What will it take to lay off the Clausen bashing?

The ones bashing Clausen after only two games when he clearly showed improvement are just as guilty and moronic as those that bashed Moore after just two games in the beginning of the season when he clearly showed improvement.

No reason to bash Clausen for yesterday's loss. Yes he could have done better and he made a lot of rookie mistakes but he didn't cost us the game. He's the guy that put us in a position to win and he did his part of keeping us in the game until D-Will and our O-line let us down.

If yesterday is showing improvement in your eyes. I would hate to see failure. He was worse yesterday than last Sunday. Do I think he will improve yes but do I think he should sit next week so he doesnt get abused. Let Moore play and take the punishment that will happen and then Start Clausen after the Bye week.

He did have a slightly higher rating - which I think is because the math favors someone who throws 1 TD In 11 passes more than 1 TD in 33. QB rating does not tell the whole story, the same way that Moore's game against NE didn't mean he outplayed Tom Brady as some people claimed.

But, he did well for: 1) being a rookie, 2) making his first road start, and 3) playing against a very aggressive, ball-hawking Saints defense.

My point is, there is no way you can say any QB SUCKED, especially a rookie when he had a better QB game than the defending SB CHAMPS did on his home field! Jimmy made lots of mistakes no questions ask but he put us in a position to win the game and managed it well. What the H3LL else can you ask of him? A WIN? Tell D-Will to run the play thats called and we would have one!

I for one would like to see Clawsome2 and HPPantherzfan to just chill out a bit. We all want to like Clausen but you are making it like Florida and The Golden Calf of Bristol for me. SO much hype and such ignorant fans to the extreme that I ended up hating it. Just relax and let the kid develop and stop comparing him to Brees and let him win a game then we can all celebrate and be happy.

I don't need you to try and convince me how good he is. I'll let his play decide that.

In his first two starts, Clausen has had a better QB rating than the veteran QB's he has faced. I know the QB rating is not the end-all-be-all, but it's saying something.

I'd like to know what the rookie QB measuring stick is for folks that think Clausen is performing poorly? Flacco? Ryan? Sanchez?

QB Rating is the be all and end all of determining who is good after all it takes into account every factor that occurred in the game and clearly the guy who completes for 70% of his passes and has at least one touchdown averted (which would have put him over Clausen in QB rating) because of a careless fumble on the one yard line did the worse job.

Maybe you should go read up on why you can't take one statistic that seems to prove your point and use it as your sole argument especially when it flies in the face of observation.

Especially QB rating which is one of the most widely criticized statistical categories in the NFL.

what will it take? all people have to do is not praise him for stuff he isn't doing. He looks bad right now and like a rookie.....that should be expected. Not a major concern. He is gonna have to take some lumps and learn.

Claiming he is miles better than Moore, is getting better every week, etc.......just isn't true. Just let him be a rookie that is on a poorly coached team. He will likely give us some stuff to praise soon....
