Clausen versus Weinke- a better comparison

Based on what? They both lost 2 games> Seems even to me.

And the offense seems much better to me under Moore. we moved the ball and threw some picks but lets be honest, Clausen should have been picked at least 2 times yesterday. Truth is his passes were so far off they weren't close to anybody.

Give him one more game. If he sucks again, then after the bye I would give Moore a chance for sure.

OK Mrs. Moore, I believe I speak for everyone when I say it's always good to have players' wives come on here and post, but Clausen having no history probably, maybe could be because he's a rookie and if we're looking at "should have been picked," Moore would have thrown 12 picks in his first 2 games. But again, thanks for coming on here. Always good to have a wife's point of view.

The point is, Why? Why play Moore? Because he might be marginally better than a rookie?

It's obviously not because he's going to lead us to the playoffs if he plays. If you think that, well then there's no help for you.

The thing is, Moore is not the perceived future of this franchise, Clausen is. There is no benefit of starting Moore who may or may not win a few games and play marginally better than Clausen. Stats will prove time and time again that all the greats have struggled their rookie years. Some have looked downright awful, but you have to let the kids play.

Once Clausen was named the starter the thing was set. You can't bench him now, especially back in favor or Moore. WHY would you do that? That would kill any confidence he's starting to gain and whats the possible upside of doing this? THERE IS NONE. Plain and simple.

You mean he plays like a rookie? That is shocking.

But we have a better option who is still 6-4 as a starter. I told you this would happen. Yeah we need to give Moore another start, so far Clausen has shown nothing. No need to start a bad rookie and keep sucking when we have a better option on the bench.

The stats mattered until they ran counter to your argument, at which point, the stats lie.

Flacco sucked through two games. What a loser. Too bad for them they stuck it out and didn't go with Troy Smith.

what was my arguement?

Also, Flacco didn't suck in his first 2 games. That is why the Ravens started off 2-0. Pretty sure, he didn't suck that season and that is why they went to the AFC Championship game.

just comparing stats doesn't mean you are comparing what two guys really are doing on a field.

QB 1 (stats from first 2 starts this season):

20/49 - 307 yards - 2 TD - 4 INT - 40.8 rating

QB 2 (stats from first 2 starts this season):

27/54 - 334 yards - 1 TD - 1 INT - 72.1 rating

Which one would you take?

Because moore has every right to play as well. He is every bit as much the future of this franchise as Clausen is right now. He lost his job because he played poorly for 2 games. Now Clausen has done the same thing.

Seems to me that after 4 games Clausen has shown nothing more than Moore. In my mind things are wide open again. Give Clausen one more week. If he still sucks, then after the bye put in Moore.

What is their win- lost record?

Without that what do you have?

Someone said that the comparison should be made to rookies starting from the bench. You said "Joe Flacco". Flacco's stat line is much worse than Clausen's through two games. Now you're backpedaling.

I gave a better example of a QB that fit the requested criteria.

you can't compare QBs and only talk about stat lines. That isn't backpedaling. Flacco looked surprisingly good his rookie season. So you are trying to say Clausen has looked better than Flacco did in 08?????????
