Offense is Terrible

Our O is terrible but it's not because of Clausen. First off, he isn't geting good blocking from the O line and some of the WR rtes are taking too long to develope. The O line isn't creating any running lanes for our backs. 73 Bernadeau was horrible, I hope he blocks better next week or that Otah comes back and he's (73) taken out of the lineup.

couldnt we bring in someone such as testaverde just to coach him up a bit?

If Clausen had not thrown those four bad passes to Gettis and hadn't had but half of the batted passes he had then it would have been a solid game. As a rookie we can expect improvement, but I want to see the easy misses that he had hit and the batted passes avoided.

As for those batted passes, Fox Got Game had the WR coach from Providence High School on to talk about the game and they asked about Jimmy's low passes, what he needs to do to avoid them getting batted down. Know what he said that surprised the hosts and me? The O-line has to make the adjustments when a QB tends to throw balls low. They have to give him the lanes to make the throws. So the O-line has to get use to Jimmy while Jimmy gets use to them.

Gosh, it is a team sport after all.

He also said that we do not have any WR's that are any good right now with Steve Smith out. He didn't sound enthusiastic that any of them would be able to step up to fill Smith's shoes even remotely.

I mean you got a guy whose only real experience is as a qb for william and mary trying to teach NFL players. Its as case of the blind leading the sight impaired. clausen would probably be a better qb coach right now than scherer. and scherer was one of the reasons delhomme imploded and I think now that moore has regressed from last year.

Makes no sense to me.

I did read that both his older brothers were QB's at Tennessee. I would imagine that they talk quite a bit.

It is laughable to say a rookie QB playing with a lousy line against the defending SB champs on the road had more TDs than turnovers and nearly drove his team to a win played terrible. Aaron Rodgers was 8-9 for 3 TDs early vs Detroit. Stupid incompletion, he sucks.

Brothers talking QB play may offset anything bad he picks up from Scherer?? What doesn't make sense?

i didn't think his play looked half bad, except for the delays and confusion obviously. he did a good job with his reads, didn't throw any picks, moved well in the pocket - definitely a big improvement over last week. also threw his first career NFL touchdown.

why are we ripping on him when he clearly improved over last week?

He has things to work on, for sure, but he's progressing.

Progressing? How? We had two drives that went for TD's the rest was either 3 and out or 6 and out. I know he will improve over time but right now he is worse than Moore. If you want to atleast win game paly the better QB. We will fix the offensive line this week. Let Moore play agaisn the Bears and then after the bye bring Clasuen back. But right now I wouldnt want Clausen facing the Bears Defense it will defiantly set him back.

Please enlighten us on how in the world you get Moore is a better QB than Clausen? Moore made more rookie mistakes than a rookie has made in two games each this year!

I'm curious as to what he has done that made him a better QB this year? Stats say otherwise!
