Offense is Terrible

I thought for a rookie he played like a rookie.

This. Damn spoiled fans want him (or Moore) to come in here be top tier right away and take us to the Playoffs. Silly fools. Ain't happening.

Two weeks ago Clausen fumbled it, messed up the snap, and threw a pick.

Yesterday he didn't do any of that.

Next week look for him to manage the clock better.

It's going to take time. Get used to it, or go be a Steelers fan. They win a lot.

While it true that the place gets loud it wasnt that loud for most of the game. When it did get loud he had trouble getting the plays off in time. But it still doesnt excuse the bad throws and throwing into the defensive line.

I know we expect a lot out of the kid but he really is a Rookie. IMO he has almost no chemistry with any WR not named Gettis. Also if we can fix that right side of the Oline he will start to settle in. Right now he has to worry about the S blitz that no one picks up on every play.

I just hope he settles in and improves. He has so far so maybe next week will be his game.

The best thing for this offense is Smith out, at least until he starts becoming a leader and stops being a crybaby. All he does is sapp Clausen of confidence.

You talk to Clausen regularly about this? Or is this just an assumption?

Why do i get the creeping feeling that this thread is more of an excuse to bash Jimmy (for another solid game) than to critique the other areas of the offense for their failures?

Hmmm...

It's not, solid game.

Yeah he is a rookie but you dont treat him like one. If he does something wrong wouldnt you want him to improve on it. He still stared down receivers just like last week. He was worse than last week so you cant say he improved.

Just to show you its not only Jimmy. The right side of the offensive line needs replaced ASAP!

If Clausen had not thrown those four bad passes to Gettis and hadn't had but half of the batted passes he had then it would have been a solid game. As a rookie we can expect improvement, but I want to see the easy misses that he had hit and the batted passes avoided.

I didn't think he was terrible. He made a great throw to Gettis on his back shoulder. He's a rookie and all i'm looking at is "can he get better each week".

I would say he was better this week than he was against the Bengals, and that is a plus in my book.

It happens. If the Saints lost, I can see a few Saints fans claiming that Brees didn't have a solid game because of the passes he got batted down at the line and his fumble. Not to mention him getting antsy on a few of his passes and throwing the ball at his receivers feet where they had no chance to get them.

I agree that we'll see all the different sides of Clausen as the season goes on. Even a couple down right horrible games.
