Despite all of the love of James Anderson here....

Yes, he recovered two fumbles.

He was also caught out of position on several runs and allowed big gains. Brown had the edge contained, James was late in getting outside the tackle, result: 10-15 yards.

Thomas Davis is still needed.

The defense as a whole played very well yesterday and Anderson was a big part of that. He did a lot more than force a couple of fumbles. He had a sack, and several very nice tackles. In fact, he had significantly more tackles than anyone else did. He played very well yesterday.

The defense gave us a shot to win, but the offense couldn't take advantage of it.

Agreed, i felt that he gave up on plays if they got pasted him. The only reason for the first fumble recovery was because he was jogging behind the ball carrier after he got beat inside and the ball popped out right in front of him.

A big part of football is being at the right place at the right time.

I don't think that anyone said he was perfect but he played balls out this week. Two fumble recovers, 1 sack, 16 tackles, 14 solo tackles. I'll take those results from one player every week.

He was out of position a few times, but it happens to almost anyone who has ever played defense at least once a week... He made up for it though. I wish people would give him his due, he should've been starting a long time ago. And a healthy TD would be welcomed, but I think Anderson has earned his spot.

Stats don't lie. He has earned it twice over. And yes, guys in every position make an error here and there. I shook my head at his one horribly missed tackle that gave them a touchdown. Then I applauded him for everything else he did and has done this season. If TD can come back 100%, it'll be interesting to see if we try and move Connor or move him back to part-time. I think he also has deserved playing more.

at the end of the day thought it doesnt matter how good our defense plays our offense needs to score points in the second half and control the clock. Without controling the clock the players who looks so good start to get tired.

Simple as that. I don't know how we can really point the finger at anyone on the defense. I'd like to see more pressure on the QB, particularly from the DL, but we're playing good-great defense right now. IIRC, we came into the Saints game ranked 14th overall and that was with the numerous blown coverages in the Giants game and a few big flubs against the Bengals, including about 3 dropped INTs...

So, we took that defense into the game and held the defending champs to 16 points. Our problem is we're not scoring.

If I'm not mistaken, we won the turnover battle 2-1 yesterday, correct? That's just inexcusable. I can't verify it, but they said during the game yesterday that we didn't even score points off those turnovers we caused, but the defense took 6-12 points away from them with those turnovers. But, Captain gave them 3 with his fumble...

It's our offense. We will not win a game until this offense can put up at least 17 points.

And as was pointed out, Anderson plays SLB and TD at WLB... So, I don't know what TD's injury has to do with Anderson... If anything, I think Connor should be a rotational player once TD is healthy and let Anderson continue to start with Beas back at MLB and TD at WLB.
