i'm totally fine with clausen as the starter and i'm looking forward to seeing him and this team grow in the future. i'm looking forward to getting a new coaching staff.

i just don't trust hurney all that much. i don't like at all the approach he's taken with the WRs.

i'm also not ready to give up on the season but i think if hurney doesn't try to go out and find another WR then he has given up or he's delusional.

I use to trust Hurney, but not anymore.

It's obvious he can't judge WR talent to save his ass.

There is no reason to really trust anyone in the FO or coaching staff anymore.(maybe Meeks?)

Hurney's trades haven't exactly paid off and quite frankly he's been made to look pretty foolish on some of his latest endeavors.

May have to lean towards that myself because we have seemingly gotten more production or better players from our 6th and 7th rounders than the early rounds lately.

And I sure don't take that as him being a genius at finding "diamonds in the ruff".

WE ARE 0-4!!!! THE SKY IS FALLING!!! JIMMY CLAUSEN IS A PIECE OF poo/BUST/LIKES BOYS!!!

he's started 2 games in his entire career. He looked better this game than last game. Same with the rest of the team. We are getting better. We are young and inexperienced. We are gaining experience slowly but surely.

Don't worry, whoever takes over next year is inheriting a very talented young team. Please stop worrying so much. I know it's frustrating, but we need to deal with it.

please shut up.

Quitcher bitchin!

my deal is that i have accepted the fact that we will suck this year.

am I happy?

no.

My spirit has not been defeated and I have not given up on the team in the slightest. I am still cheering for them every sunday and will not miss a game. I will just not be surprised when we find some new way to f**k up and lose a game. We are very young and we are playing that way.

Having said that, I have seen significant improvement over these first four games that leads me to believe that we are on the rise. i mean come on, we can't do any worse than winless can we? When you're in the basement the stairs only go one way.

Plus it gives me something to look forward to come april...

TOP 5 DRAFT PICK!!!! WOOOO!!!!

now that's something to get excited about.

As sad as it sounds in WEEK 5  (it's gonna be a long season) thats is so true with the type of exceptional athletes that have come out in the top five in the last few years to add a Suh, Spiller, or Calvin Johnson type would be amazing.

It's not just him. Its a collection of people. Starts at Hurney, then head coach, WR coach, and most importantly...the talent scout who is responsible for finding WR prospects. All of the guys rely on the scout's findings...I say fire that guy.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
