Panthers D holds up their end of bargain

(By Darin Gantt, [email protected]) NEW ORLEANS -- Most days when you allow the opponent to hold the ball all day and win, it's hard to find the good in a defensive effort. But the Carolina Panthers' stop-side did everything possible to leave the Louisiana Superdome feeling positively about themselves, and still didn't. p/You look at the other games this year, and you say 'Hey, we made too many mistakes to win,' Panthers linebacker Jon Beason said. That's not the case this week. This one feels like it's not even fair.

Yeah but they didn't play that well either. How many times did we miss first tackles and give the Saints first downs. How many times did the Saints convert third downs? Yeah, way too many. Sure the offense helped very little but the defense had plenty of times where one tackle made in the backfield or a pass batted down instead of interference would have stopped the Saints. How many yards did we give up on the ground to no name backs? Well over 100. What about bree's completion percentage? must have been 65%.

Truth is we bent and bent and finally broke. That is the best we can say today, the team played okay but not great. For me that is not good enough. Not nearly good enough.

D may not have lost it, but the ydidn't win it, either.

When your D doesn't get people off the field... meh.

Yes, our O only had 2 good drives, again. That's a problem.

Then again, we only had 9 possessions. >.< Still need more production out of the O.
