We might just have something special here with Jimmy Clausen

This is starting to smell a lot like your Jarrett conspiracy posts.

Fox yanked Moore because he wasn't playing well and the team was doing nothing with him behind center.

it ain't a conspiracy, Fox just isn't a good coach. It also isn't a conspiracy that there is Fox's train of thought and other people are having a different say......and there is no telling how and to what degree that is effecting things.

again, quick question, why did Godfrey get his job back after his injury last season? When we had been abused at that position for 20 something straight games.....and FINALLY had legit S play?

Fox starts and plays guys he likes. This lame duck season adds a whole new element of mystery to Fox's behavior.....He is guy for the first time in his career forced w/ more roster moves that he probably disagrees with than any other time in his career here.

Because he belived Godfrey would progress. As he did after he returned after the injury.

QB 1 (stats from first 2 starts):

20/49 - 307 yards - 2 TD - 4 INT - 40.8 rating

QB 2 (stats from first 2 starts):

27/54 - 334 yards - 1 TD - 1 INT - 72.1 rating

I wonder who is who? Anyways, WTF Fox, why did you bench the better QB?

Carolina doesn't run the exact same offense. In college, Clausen ran a ton of screen plays and dink and dunked a great deal. There were a lot of building blocks though and similar things. Problem is we don't have a lot of the stuff built into this offense Clausen thrived off of in college.

The personnel's different and the focus in the offense is the running game and not pass, but system wise its the same system. Same terminology, same theory that Charlie Weis developed in New England. That's part of why he was brought in. We do have some of the components to have an effective screen game, but lack pass protection and rapport with his current group of receivers that once again will get better with time in this version of the offense.

Carr didn't stand in the pocket like a statue. Carr looked for his first read and would panic not letting the plays develop. This offense doesn't have lots of check downs and most of the passing routes are deep/medium.

Yes he was a statue in the pocket. Apparently your forgetting all the shots he took while with the Texans. I do not see that in Clausen at all, but I don't see myself changing your opinion on that so I'm done with it.

I agree Clausen has to be allowed to work through his mistakes. I am fine w/ that. I think today was great experience for him. But again, I don't see how we saw improvement yet from the young man.

So not committing turnovers isn't a sign of improvement? Last time I checked it was for a rookie QB.

WTF are you talking about? Clausen averaged 8.9 yards per completion last year, most in the nation, 2nd most all time in CFB history, in a pro style offense Einstein. I GO TO ND, I have SEEN HIM LIVE with MY OWN TWO EYES. You are just pulling shyt out of your ass to make your argument sound better. Clausen went down the field too much last year at ND if anything. Weis' entire offense was throwing down the field to Tate, Floyd and Rudolph. You are just a miserable person who just hates Clausen because hes Clausen. Get a life. Nobody is saying Clausen is all world, just that they see great potential in him. Nothing wrong with that and its a matter of opinion, so stop trying to make it seem as a fact. You say Clausen looks like Carr, I say he looks like Drew Brees. Are either one of us wrong? NO, cuz its an opinion.

Well.................. going by qb rating for this game, I think it's obvious that Clausen >>>> Brees. :coolgleamA:

were you watching the game?? Take out the 1 play where the Saints simply gave him a gift in not covering Stewart.

10/20 for 91 yards. He struggled on the very first drive with something as simple as the playclock....and he did the same on the very last drive. During the game he locked on to his first read every single play (minus the busted coverage on Stewart when he went in to what is becoming standard scramble Clausen mode).....taking off to run often and throwing low balls into the DL. Clausen looks like a rookie QB that ain't ready to be thrown into the mix.

what was impressive about that?

He didn't turn the ball over....that was all I saw that was impressive.

Matt Moore still gives us the best to win in 2010. Nothing suggests otherwise....definately not Clausens play and his lack of ability to make reads or get the ball to Steve Smith.

The headset in his helmet was broken for almost the entire first quarter and moore was sending him effin smoke signals (damn good ones) from the sideline to get plays in. Not his fault. Fox talked about it in his press conference...

ps. sorry if that was already mentioned..didn't feel like reading all the way to find out.

A real NFL QB would have psychically torn the plays from Jeff Davidson's mind.

why do you think he is a lame duck coach?

why? he simply is. Jerry Richardson told him to go find a job this offseason and that he would let him out of his contract. Fox couldn't find a job so Jerry so okay, you can play out your last year.

why isn't he?
