Scoreless after one (for now)

The Panthers continue to create opportunities with defense, but the offense can't do anything with them.

It's still scoreless after one here at the Superdome (though the Saints are at the Panthers 4 and driving), and the Panthers may stay that way from the looks of things.

On Jimmy Clausen's first possession, he had to call two time-outs before they ran their fourth play. Part of that problem was an outage of the coach-quarterback headset radio, and he didn't kknow what to call.

On their second drive, a third-and-1 rush attempt by Jonathan Stewart was blown up in the backfield.

Panthers RG Mackenzy Bernadeau can't block Saints DT Sedrick Ellis, making you wonder whether Geoff Schwartz needs to start there if RT Jeff Otah ever comes back.

The Saints put together a long, time-killing drive, but got nothing when Panthers SS Sherrod Martin forced a Lance Moore fumble into the end zone, which James Anderson recovered.

Though the Saints are without their top two running backs, they're grinding away at the Panthers with Chris Ivory and Ladell Betts.
