I agree with this statement 100%.

I agree, he did say that. I don't agree that its true.

Take two players of equal talent, one who is known for passion and the other who is well disciplined, and the well disciplined player will usually win.

Of course, when a team gets a guy who is both, that team is extremely lucky.

The team had been looking at trading Jenkins long before he made these statements.

The year after he was shipped out, the team went 12-4 without him.

Add in that more than one player didn't seem terribly upset about him being gone (though leadership wouldn't let them be specific).

And, as has been mentioned, leaders lead by example, not just words. It's kind of hard to listen to criticism about lack of heart and fire from a guy who never showed up for offseason workouts and was perpetually out of shape.

Let Steve Smith talk about heart, and I'll listen.

When Kris Jenkins talks about it, I'll laugh.
