Earth-like planet discovered

Sure is promising...if we don't anhiliate ourselves. We're pretty dumb. A few more centuries of mind/thought evolution should help. I mean we haven't even figured out how to live on our own planet yet...we'd just f*ck the next one up even worse at this point.

That's the first thing that came to my mind.

"Great another planet to rape and F*** up!"

Maybe it's like when you build your dream house. You build it, then you have to build a second one to fix all the things wrong with the firss one that you thought were good, but turned out to be s**t! So you build your second one to correct those.

Maybe if we start over on another planet, we can correct all the things we did wrong on this one. (Doubtful, but hopeful!) Start from the beginning with wind and solar energy. Build structures that complement the planet not leave it in ruins. And structures that aren't here today and tear it down tomorrow and build something else in it's place!

Earth will become Wall-E! The new planet "G" we will probably get there and find it's like "Planet 51". Maybe when we get there we will find that have "Alien Immigration Laws" and quotas! (If the Native Americans would have had better immigrations laws when Columbus landed, we wouldn't be in 1/2 the mess we are in now!) Of course the Native Americans wouldn't be getting rich off the White man and his money from their casinos!

If the Native Americans had said to the settlers at Jamestown and Plymouth. OK, you can land, but you have to obey our laws, and learn Cherokee as your native language. We aren't taking any ESL (English as a Second launguage) classes. And none of this "Press 1 if you want Cherokee and 2 if you want English" Bullshit!

Instead the Native American stood on the shores and saw all the boats coming from Europe and simply said, "Europeans! Damn, there goes the neighborhood!"

Yep, the Native Americans should have had tougher Alien Immigration laws back in the 1400's!!

take about 10,000 years to get there....but yeah.

Let's get working on that warp drive.

FTL travel isn't the only obstacle. There are so many problems with deep space travel that the first "space pilgrims" are almost 100% certain to die on the way there. Food/water supply, effects of simulated gravity on the body, etc. Not to mention that if anything went wrong, it would take us years to receive the distress call.

Pstall that's the whole reason we would move. It's like trading in your old car for a new one so you no longer to look at those horrible protein stains that serve only to remind you of the girl who destroyed your dreams.
