3-4 versus 4-3

This might have been said already... but...

I think our Linebackers could pull off a 3-4, especially when we get Davis back.

But our D-line couldn't do it. Running teams would eat us alive for 4+ yards every attempt.

Linebackers would be closest to pulling it off, but lineman I just dont see how that would work. This past offseason we got rid of everyone who can play in a 3-4 lineman wise to move to a fast front four.

Why Do Beason & Davis not fit the 3-4 scheme ?

Beason 6'0 237 Timmons 6'1" 234

Connor 6'2" 231 Farrior 6'2" 243

Davis 6' 0" 240 Harrison 6'0" 242

Size wise they look awful close to 3 0f the Steelers starting LB's

Hardy 6'4" 277

Noorwood 6'1" 241 Woodley 6'2" 265

The problem is a true NT and DE

One would almost think drafting Hardy & Norwood was for a 3-4 defense in the future

Obviously the problem is the starting DL on the current Panthers team.. Where would you get them?

when comparing you can't just look at size cause our lb's are decent, it's that you would reduce their greatest asset(speed). teams draft players that fit what they do,doesn't mean our guys couldn't though. it is also important to remember that many teams run the 34 but only a few are as agressive as most of us would like to see
