Parcells decides he wants another NFL job

Again, I'll bold your quote. You made a sweeping generalization of the man's career and what he meant to an organization once he got there.

Nobody is suggesting a 69 year old Parcells take over the Panthers.

But to denigrate what he's accomplished in his career is ridiculous. Bill Parcells is NFL royalty, everywhere he's coached.

The first post in the thread...

Come fix the Panthers Bill!

Half the other posts in this thread say something similar.

And again I ask, when was the last time a team he was associated with won a playoff game?

Parcells has certainly had a Hall of Fame career. So has Joe Gibbs, but his last stint with the Redskins didn't exactly produce a winner, did it?

The Bill Parcells of today is not the same Bill Parcells who coached the Giants. He's not even handling all of the duties with the Dolphins now that he was before. He gave some of it up to Jeff Ireland, and now he's prepared to move on with the Dolphins still a work in progress.

I get what you're saying Mr Scot. That's why I think that if the Tuna were to come to us it would have to be a short term deal out of the gate.

An arrangement that looked more like consultant than permanent fixture.

Year 1 - HC and get the team turned around.

Year 2 - Bring in a new HC as a Coordinator and an assistant to take the coordinators job.

Year 3 -Finish installing the systems both O and D, and prepare the coaching staff for the transition (and win a SB)

Then he is gone with ~15mil and we are set to prosper for years to come.

Oh and I want an Aston Martin and a house in the mountains too.

"Consultant" is essentially what he is with the Dolphins right now.

The offer you have makes sense, but I don't think it'll happen for two reasons. One, as CBD pointed out, Richardson is happy with the current structure of Hurney and Morrison. Two, some other team would probably offer him a better arrangement - i.e. more money, more power - than the Panthers would.
