Parcells decides he wants another NFL job

I would take Parcells here in any form without a doubt, eventhough he will end up probably only being here for 2, 3 maybe 4yrs the most it would be worth it.

The Parcells of ten years or so ago, maybe.

The last few teams he's helped did get better, but it didn't translate into much outside of winning regular seasons.

And when you look at Miami, how much is Parcells and how much is Jeff Ireland?

Maybe you are right. I think he could and is still good at getting rid of the garbage and evaluating the talent already on a team when he takes it over. I dont think I would complain if he ended up here. Now I dont think it will happen.

parcells drafted in miami the last 3 years:

-chad henne

-jake long

-chris clemmons

-vontae davis

-sean smith

-jarred odrick

-koa misi

-kendall langford

-john jerry

-anthony fasano

-brian hartline

-signed UFA davone bess

-signed free agent from canada Cam Wake

(all starters)

-Signed Karlos Dansby

-Traded 2 (2nd) round picks for brandon marshall

-Got one of those 2nds back trading down from #12 to #28 and still picked up a stud in jared odrick from penn state

-brought in chad pennington when the jets cut him

-took us from 1-15 to 11-5 in one season

now with the good comes some bad....

-pat white 2nd rd pick

-patrick turner 3rd rd pick

-gibril wilson free agent signing

-eric green free agent signing

-ernest wilford free agent signing

-justin smiley FA

-Jake Grove FA

The miami dolphins are a very fast, very powerful, very young team right now. our oldest defensive starter is karlos dansby @ 28 years old.

He brought in mike nolan on defense....he is a genius with late draft picks/undrafted free agents.....davone bess is wes welker 2.0 and he wasnt drafted. cameron wake will have 10+ sacks this year and he was udfa out of canada. he drafts some no name brian hartline 4th round....and now hes starting and putting up 85 yards on the jets defense.

He drafted jake long over vernon gholston, chris long and matt ryan (all were discussed) jake long is the best lt in the league or #2 (joe thomas) and will be the anchor of our line for over a decade.

Parcells is the reason the miami dolphins right now have such a bright future. Thanks bill!

Fasano was a Cowboys pick.

The year one turnaround was good, but you were one and done in the playoffs and went 7-9 the following year.

And again, how much is Parcells and how much is Jeff Ireland?

i counted fasano, cause parcells drafted him in dallas.

Last year sucked but we were in it till the end andWe play in imo the toughest division in football. def. in the AFC. 7-9 is not bad considering at the end of the season we were without......

pennington, ronnie brown, jason ferguson, will allen, justin smiley, jake grove, channing crowder all to injuries, all starters.....2 rookie corners, 1st year starter in henne, 34 yr old running back in ricky williams and our #1 WR was ted fuging ginn.

ill take 7-9 all day haha

We take it every other year :(

Won't argue that Parcells has improved teams he's been part of, but it hasn't translated to the playoffs for a long time now. And true to form, he's getting antsy to move on, having ceded a fair share of his power.

He can do a team good, but he doesn't tend to stick around long enough to finish the deal.

Truthfully though, any discussion of him coming to the Panthers is probably wasted. The only position he'd likely want is Team President, and Jerry Richardson just put Danny Morrison in that spot this past season.

Parcells may indeed move on, but I doubt it'll be here.

What the hell does it take you make you happy?

8 years with the Giants and 2 Super Bowl wins.

4 years with the Patriots and a Super Bowl loss.

3 years with the Jets and 4 years with the Cowboys and only one of those years his teams finished with a losing record.

Jesus Christ the year before he got to New Engalnd they were 2-14.

The year before he got to the Jets they were 1-15.

The year before he got to the Cowboys they were 5-11.

Seriously, WTF?

Where did you see me say anything about the Giants or Pats?

I said he isn't what he once was, and that his most recent work hasn't produced playoff wins. Can you deny that the last time he had a hand in a playoff win was a long time back?

I'd rather have a guy on the rise than be Parcells next stop.

Again, I'll bold your quote. You made a sweeping generalization of the man's career and what he meant to an organization once he got there.

Nobody is suggesting a 69 year old Parcells take over the Panthers.

But to denigrate what he's accomplished in his career is ridiculous. Bill Parcells is NFL royalty, everywhere he's coached.

Every team he ever graced with his presence is good. He generally takes a basement team to respectability, and leaves them in solid shape after he leaves for years to come. Probably because he instills a solid work ethic and sound practices.

FYI - Giants, Jets, Patriots, Cowboys, Dolphins

that said, if he even wanted to just come here and have a talk with the Panthers administration for an hour, good enough for me. I mean sh!t he flirted with the Falcons after the '07 season which was a disaster for them and even they came out alright.
