i agree, i think parcells with carolina would end up being another fox regime. a big shakeup in personnel, some exciting changes, and a promising season or two - and then mediocrity.

Then he will convert the defense to a 3-4, then improve some, and leave when the first sign of downfall occurs.

Although, I love the 3-4 defense compared to our 4-3. Too bad we dont have the outside linebackers to make it work, seems like everyone is making the switch...

Hurney is a salary cap genius (supposedly). That's the only reason I would want to keep him on the payroll. Sure Parcells is a genius when it comes to drafting, but I don't know if I trust him in the finance department.. he has no experience there.

The other question is, if Parcells came here, would Richardson be willing to open up his checkbook and sign some of the free agents that he wants? I doubt Parcells will be down with building through the draft.

I don't think Parcells would like the situation here. I can't see him signing with a team like us. It'll be New York, some place where they have the money to give him the tools he needs to win.

Why does everyone assume that once there is a new CBA in place that JR wouldn't spend money on FAs?

It's not like he hasn't spent money on FAs before.

Sometimes I think a significant portion of our fanbase isn't able to stretch their memory back past this season.

To listen to some of the talk regarding Leonard and Tyler, for example, you'd think that Marty Hurney always got hosed on trades. Reality is he's had plenty of success, but these two (made out of need) didn't pan out.

As to Parcells, can't say I'd be interested.

I think the Tuna does well when he is revamping and "picking all the groceries", but a team in our position with a core already may not need him. I dont see high odds for success with the Tuna here in Carolina, but we would probably get a boost in media coverage. . . hooray for pretentiousness!
