Panthers ready to make a run

Why are you guys concerned with our run game? Or even the offense for that matter? That is like teams going up against us worrying about their pass coverage. It doesn't matter, the saints are 95% Brees. We can score 3 tds and it won't matter because Brees is capable of much more. The way our Dline is playing it won't matter one bit how much we can run and in fact will probably hurt us as steve smith said becasue we will run time off the clock with Brees on the other side, it just isn't going to work. The defense is going to have to step up much more than the offense in this game, and that is saying A LOT. There won't be any easy picks or easy 'missed picks' rather, the Panthers are going to have to actually cover/tackle the screens and cover the receivers.

You can count on the fact that the Saints will load the box again. As others have said, Jimmy needs to come out throwing to loosen them up and Davidson needs to stop being so predictable. Much of the Falcon's running happened in the second half after they loosened up the defense. If we come out running right away there will several 3 and outs and we will be behind by 17 points at the half and have to throw.

It isn't rocket science folks.

We have to use the pass to set up the run especially when teams put 8 and 9 guys in the box.

i watched the falcons/saints game on quickplay yesterday. honestly NO's run defense was solid until the last quarter and overtime, when it looked like they got tired and couldn't clog the LOS as much. atlanta was able to move the ball to gonzalez enough times on 3rd down to keep drives alive and wear the Saints' D down.

the panthers don't have a reliable threat (as of now) to pick up key 3rd downs longer than 3-4 yards so i wouldn't bank on carolina rushing for a bunch of yards just yet. it could happen, of course, but the falcons game is not exactly a roadmap for success given the tendencies of the offense so far this season.
