Smith down plays words to Clausen.

The much bigger story will be when (hopefully) Clausen chews out Smith on the sideline.

That's when this team will be winning games.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Clausen said something to him then...thats why Smith come back at Clausen and had to be "escorted" away.

Make no mistake, Clausen really could care less who you are, he is a very firey competator just like Smitty. Those two may bump head(s) A LOT but I bet they end up respecting each other ;)

Smith wants the ball. He knows he's not open all the time, but when he does get open he wants his QB to see it. I wouldn't want it any other way.

If a QB is a big enough pussy to get butt hurt over a WR yelling at him for the ball he doesn't deserve to be an NFL QB.

Let's be clear: Clausen wasn't butt hurt over this. I doubt he cared. ANYONE who has paid any attention to Smith KNOWS 'how he is,' and how all WRs are.

A QB won't find the WR on every play, and while we may think that he was open on the play Smith is complaining about, I never saw fewer than two guys within closing distance of Smith on any given play, so I find it hard to believe he was uncovered on any play in which Clausen had time to progress through reads...

Smitty has fire. And I want the ball in his hands as much as anyone. But I remember SMitty fumbling a couple punts as a rookie vs. Green Bay that cost us the game. How would he have held up with Sam Mills in his grill? Teammates don't have temper tantrums on the sideline toward each other. They should support each other especially when one screws up. Again, Clausen is a rookie, and Smitty's ass was riding a bike in Spartanburg when he could have been running that route with Clausen as his QB. The communication breakdown is more Y-league's fault than Clausen's. I can not, under any conditions, condone his childish/thuggish behavior. I can say that I was proud of JC and the way a 23 year old rookie outclassed a 30 year old veteran.
