Rex Ryan wanted Trent Edwards so he could "pick his brain"

"The obvious thing would be we were going to pick his brain. Absolutely, that would be true," Jets coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday when asked why he wanted Edwards.

"The other thing is, I think the young man can play. I think he's a good quarterback and we always look at every opportunity to make our team better," Ryan said.

The Jets and bills play in 2 weeks...but I really don't think he needed Trent Edwards' help to beat them.
