Team Chemistry...

We have none. Individually across all positions, we have tons upon tons of talent. They don't seem to be playing like it though. Why? I don't know. maybe team chemistry.

Just my theory added to the long list of why we suck so horribly this year.

I really dont think chemistry is the problem. Im not saying that it isnt but what makes you think that there is no team unity?

Absolutely chemistry is critical to a team and it is true right now we don't have any. Is it all veteran leadership? Some of it is for sure but not all. Each year teams have to build their own chemistry and it doesn't continue from one year to the next. On the other hand having veteran guys who have worked together before make it easier to develop that chemistry. Look at the offensive line for example. On the surface they have 3 veterans right now who have played together for some time. But the right side is new and there is little experience. You would think that wouldn't impact the left side though and yet Gross is having his worse year in some time. Coincidence? I don't think so. Kalil said it yesterday. The line is not playing together and it is lack of experience which is causing most of it.

you can have unity without chemistry. our team seems to like each other just fine, they just aren't playing well together, case in point, the O-line.

With the lack of older players, the young guys don't have very many people to rally to. If they're on one of few available veterans bad side, then they're not going to benefit very much.

We don't have many older guys to rally to. Smitty is a playmaker and a spark plug, not a leader. Beason is a leader. Clausen has the potential to be a leader. Neither are battle worn vets.

maybe everyone looks unhappy because we are getting beat? not a lot of cohesion when so many parts are failing to do their job.

most teams look unified and like they have a lot of chemistry when they are winning. when they are losing....everything looks bad.

once a couple players start stepping up and making big plays, things will improve. once they win a game things will also improve. until those things are done, though...expect there to be little evidence of unity or chemistry.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I think the exact same. When we are winning or even just in a good rythym, that seems to be when the players play the best and tend to see the "Chemistry". When we're turning the ball over constantly, it's hard to have that positive attitude. It's all about momentum and right now we have none. Once we start making big plays and getting in the end zone more, only then will you see the team come together again and the chemistry become more existent. Just my opinion of course.

defensively we have played well enough to be 2-1 easily. I think that unit overall is looking good. I think special teams has been solid.

Fox + Davidson simply doesn't = offense. In 2008 we had guys just do some abusrd stuff....they weren't really put in great position.

yes but do wins lead to good chemistry or does good chemistry lead to wins? it's all a matter of perspective and what you believe leads to the next

I'm not so sure it's really JUST "winning" persay, that develops chemistry. I think that making less mistakes and at least putting points on the board and having longer drives other than our notorious "3 and outs" would assist in the progression of chemistry just as well. Also making explosive plays for 30 yards or more. I also feel that with all the new players on our squad, maybe they haven't played with each other long enough yet to develop this "chemistry". Also, one thing for sure this year is, we are missing leadership. That's just as important in this league and it's something I feel we are struggling with. The only person that comes to mind when I think of leadership for our Panthers this year would be Jon Beason. I know Jake had a horrific year last year but, one thing for sure was he was a great leader and the team believed in him for many years.
