Key Improvements that would make me smile on Sunday....

I wish like hell that we would cut king and get a good TE and yes I would love for us to run more short pasts to goodson, willams and stewart. Until we are able to move the ball down field with some type of passing we are not going to be able to run the ball. I would also wish that whoever keep pulling stewart out after he gets going would stop that sh@t. The are putting stewart in for one play then pulling him. the type of running that is needed right now only stewart can do. They are rushing to many guys for williams to make it around the corner.

I hope people don't confuse us

-good consistant pressure from the defense, actually getting him down for the sack a couple of times

-Jimmy reading defenses well enough to march us down the field on more than one drive and before we are completely out of the game, and scoring more than one touchdown, at least one through the air.

-defensive guys maximizing on opportunities (not dropping picks, stripping the football, wrapping up offensive guys and getting him down the first time)

-Eliminating stupid turnovers (careless RB fumbles, center exchange fumbles, etc.)

-Offensive line and backs blocking for Clausen better by leaps and bounds especially against the blitz. Also better running lanes from the O-line.

-Play with passion and aggression for 60 minutes

-Run some more creative plays on offense to make the defense play honest

a: Competent play-calling. I'm not even asking for intelligent or creative play-calling. Just play-calling that doesn't make this franchise look like fugtards on crack.

2: Multiple first downs on one drive. I'm going out on a limb here, but maybe getting multiple first downs and taking time off the clock might rest our high-speed, attack-like-piranhas-on-PCP defense and allow them to try to tackle like professionals. I know, I know, that's too advanced for davidson. so i'll scale back expectations and ask him to have one multiple-first-down drive in a half. I think even Captain "ah, fug, we're down one score, let's abandon the running game" can manage that one.

3: Jimmy to not throw into quintuple coverage or hold the ball for approximately the rise and fall of four ancient civilizations. I was one of the biggest Moore proponents out there, and obviously that choice was ill-advised. I hope jimmy can do what matt didn't, and progress. I was unhappy when we drafted him, but he's our best chance at this point. As sad as that is.

4: Competent play from the d-line. One sack in 3 games by the entire d-line is incalculably pathetic. And this is with blowing three draft picks in three years on defensive tackles and still having them all suck. No, not suck. Suck is an upgrade. They go so far beyond suck that they have their own event horizon. Also, clearly, Everette Brown is not ready to be a starter for whatever reason, and Greg Hardy needs to see much more of the field. This is especially key against NO's apparent desire to have Drew Brees' arm fall off by week 8.

5: Considering that we are going to need every lucky break imaginable, it's high-time for the special teams to finally provide a kick-off/punt-return for a td. Shockingly, ST is the best unit on the team at this point and it's not even close. Raise your hand if you saw that coming in TC/pre-season. And then I'm testing you for every hallucinogen under the sun, because not even Kreskin saw it coming.

6: Stop sucking dick, secondary. Catch the ints. Stop blowing coverages like cheap whores. This is fundamental football, and we put the "d" in "fundumbmental."

7: Someone other than Gettis has to make plays in the receiving game. Sadly, the 6th round wr has been probably the best wr this season, out of our draft picks. and Dwayne Jarrett should already be back in Southern California celebrating the fact he's gotten away with grand larceny for years, not taking up a roster spot on this team.

Furthermore, not activating Edwards at this point is idiocy. We need speed more than we need "good hands" against the Saints, and Jarrett catching everything is useless if a cement slab could cover him. And it could. I saw it do it on Madden once. If it happens in Madden, that means it's real, right?

8: The offensive line needs to be charged with a felony. The wide receiving corps may be playing better than they are. Do you know how sad that is?
