Armanti Edwards will likely get cut next year

the man presents an argument based on comparisons to similar players and situations.

I don't think he's a tard for voicing his opinions. I kind of see how he could be right. he's not saying it will happen, he's just saying there's a chance.

Thank you!

if hurney has anything to say about it (and he probably will) edwards will still be around.

this morning hurney said that much of edwards problems ws that he lost his legs towards the end of the offseason because he had never had to do so much running in his life.

it wasn't the lack of talent that is keeping him back, it's the lack of endurance which will probably bi fixed as he gets more used to playing a position that requires a lot of it. plus the conditioning program will help with his endurance as well (providing that there isn't a lockout).

supposedly he has gotten his legs back and is back at it impressing everyone like he was early on. still...i would be surprised to see him active much at all this year. he wasn't drafted to make an impact this year. he was drafted to be an impact player next year and beyond. thats why they call him a project.

I'm not gonna lie, that interview did make me rethink some things...

Major problem with one of your points. Yes Jon Fox will more then likely be gone but Hurney will probably still be around. I don't see AE so much as a Fox guy but rather a guy Hurney tried to bring in and find his draft gem, and if Hurney's still here next season he won't admit to the mistake and let AE go.

But if he makes it a whole yr without playing much and impresss as much in the pre season as he did this past one we should be able to hide him on the Practice squad next yr.

I don't agree with the original premise that Edwards would get cut, but the possibility is still there. Edwards was given a chance in preseason and didn't produce, he was handed the punt return job and couldn't handle it. Yes he is a project, and it will take time for him to develop. But that doesn't mean he will develop into a legit WR threat who won't get cut. The basis of the original post was a new coach might want to go in a new direction and that is possible. Magnified by the fact that 2nd year LaFell, and Gettis would be around and a new coach might want more Vet leadership.

I doubt it will happen, Hurney (assume he still around) would push to keep A.E. around another year because he is a "project". Depends on the power a new coach would yield. I hope it will be a moot point and Edwards will show he was worthy of a 2nd round pick and any new coach wouldn't dream of cutting him.
