For those who say play calling wasn't an issue.

How many pass plays in the first half?

The attack didn't get balanced until the 2nd half.

Of course it doesn't matter what is called when the offense can't execute even their bread and butter plays.

If the team can cut back on the mistakes/turn overs, and our oline learns to block again (without moving wharton) then this team can still have a winning season.

How many plays did we run in the first half? We only ran 19 plays 7 was passes 11 runs and 2 was botched snaps. Not a bad breakdown besides the botched snaps.

Based on the fact that Smitty was pretty much flipping out on Clausen on the sideline on Sunday and you could definitely see how pissed he was that he wasn't getting the ball....does anyone not think that maybe he's going to want out?

Assuming that he doesn't have a big game this season and factoring in that he's getting older... I'm scared he's going to want to leave.

Based on the fact that Smitty was pretty much flipping out on Clausen on the sideline on Sunday and you could definitely see how pissed he was that he wasn't getting the ball....does anyone not think that maybe he's going to want out?

Assuming that he doesn't have a big game this season and factoring in that he's getting older... I'm scared he's going to want to leave.

Smitty might have a point at being mad Clausen next week will be targeting Smitty more. But with that said Clausen did get the ball to open receivers which I like he just needs to get Smitty active at the beginning but dont just target him. Smitty is going to have to learn to share. One thing I hate is not seeing games live. Was receivers open down field and Clausen not seeing them? If that is the case Smitty has a valid argument.

I think he was just mad because HE wanted the ball and HE was open on the certain play. We need to give him a big game though, and I think Clausen is definitely capable of that if our Oline can do their job.

WE seem all skewed down to seeing that it is the little things, the occassional brilliance and moments of visible effort are about all we can hope for. It is a learning, developmental curve we have now. Vets and Rookies are out of synch because the team is shifting assignments and methods at a ridiculous rate,

My observations showed Munnerlyn unchanged from last season on KO skills...can call FC's no better, still allowing us to get trapped in the 2-10 yard zone.

I saw a very strong effort by Johnson, and mediocre effort by the rest...missed asignments, no one covering the likely receiver and the usual head shaking and ground pounding for missed opportunities!

Now I read the D is taking responsibilities for the missed interceptions...they are not blaming the wet ball, the mud or the coaches...I now feel more assured they'll lose with dignity and responsibility...makes my ticket somehow more meaningful:eek:

IMO, this has been at the heart of the problem since preseason game #1. Last years strength is currently this years weakness. O-Line and Fiametta. These two get going, our offense should be good enough to win some games.

I can't for the life of me figure out why SS would want to remain a Panther, other than loyalty to JR.

He knows he is in the last years of being dominate, and that the Panthers are not really close to winning a Super Bowl. I would assume that the FO and Smith have already had this discussion, but they won't trade him for fear of alienating the fanbase.

This is how you stand up for your team. PLEASE BELIEVE if we can clean up the ISSUES MAINLY TURNOVERS we can win just like stated above. The bears can be beat also they have no secondary just a good front seven. I see it exactly like, that last year we got hot poo every year just about we get hot as the season goes on. I don't think we will CONTINUE TO BEAT OURSELVES LIKE WE HAVE THE FIRST THREE GAMES. To me its funny everyone thinks we are Detroit or are five win team. WE are, with as bad as we have played ONE FUMBLE OR INT AWAY FROM 3-0. Just one per game never dominated or embarrassed even playing like Detroit lately so if you can't see it that's on you we may end up wack as ever 6-10 but I just dont see it with the guys on the field Im screaming 10-6.

I only saw two real problems with Clausen.

1) He had a tendency to pull the ball back and run before his pocket collapsed, even on crucial downs.

2) He would throw to a check down route before the play would even develope while having a solid pocket to allow him time. I'm talking like a three step drop and zing to a TE or RB in the flat two yards past the line of scrimmage.

The thing is that both of these only became glaringly apparent in the second half and I believe they can mostly be attributed to nerves after having been clobbered so many times. I think he has trouble reading the defense still, especially blitzes to his weak side. As soon as he adjusts to making correct reads so that his backfield can be in position to protect him better these two tendencies will be alleviated. At least I hope so or we will end up with a Carr 2.0 like P55 has been preaching.
