I think the one time since '06 that I didn't have a bad feeling after Panthers losses early on in the season was '08 and we all know how good we were that year (even if we got our ass kicked in the playoffs it was a good campaign)

I've got the same bad feeling in last few weeks about this year's team that I did in '09 (wks 1-3), '07 (wks 2,4), and '06 (wks 1,2)

7. Dont see why everyone was complaining about the coaching. Execution was the biggest problem in this game. I expect a better game next week I even think we can win it.

Really? I am very concerned about the coaching. I hope you are right though.

This team will not go anywhere if our DE's don't start getting pressure. I was afraid that once game planning started that our DE's would get phased out. Same goes for the offensive line, they've got to get better now. Shuffle the line if you have to.

2. Turnovers cost us this game. We gave Cincy 14 on turnovers.

Play-calling was certainly not the problem. Lack of execution and lack of pressure on the QB were the problem. We should have had three more picks than we did, and our turnovers put the nail in the coffin. 1 sack is just not enough, especially against a good passing team. Also, it didn't help that the referees gift-wrapped that first TD.

I actually agree that our WR core is going to be very good in time. Gettis has some real talent. Jimmy will be exciting to watch the rest of the year--he's going to get better every game.

Also, 9-7 won't get us in the playoffs in our division.

Love the attitude though. I predicted we would win a chunk of games down the line with Clausen in. Feel more like a 5-11 though...too many inconsistencies on our team.

Fiz made a great point yesterday about rookies. Hardy has the motor but he needs the offseason conditioning to be a good DE. He doesnt have the conditioning to play alot this season. Brayton is here for his experience as far as Johnson goes that might not be a bad idea. Brown needs to step it up.

How many pass plays in the first half?

The attack didn't get balanced until the 2nd half.

Of course it doesn't matter what is called when the offense can't execute even their bread and butter plays.

If the team can cut back on the mistakes/turn overs, and our oline learns to block again (without moving wharton) then this team can still have a winning season.

So we are 0-3 right now. Actually could see 10-6 but we will drop one game with a WTF moment. Saints I think we will sweep, Atlanta will win the last game, TB we owe them one. Seattle I think will be burnt out and our secondary will pick Hassleback apart.

Tear me up but my gut is saying this will happen.
