Fox: Clausen "more than likely" to start

check this.. Jake Delhomme will be traded back to Carolina for a 3rd round pick, cause he's a true leader for our team.. and no matter what Fox will make this happen.. the OLine is just waiting for this to happen and provoking JR to make this move..

When Fox made the choice to start Jimmy, he basically had to. Backing out of having Jimmy start the rest of the season would not be good for the team. Unless an injury happened to Jimmy I dont see why he doesnt play the rest of the season. Moore had his chance and could not continue the success he had at the end of the season. Regardless of what people think. Jimmy was signed for 4 years for a reason. He has all the signs of becoming a good QB in the NFL. It's up to the coaching staff to come up with a gameplan to help make it easier on Jimmy to show alot of that. Our defense keeps us in games but when the o-line doesnt block or we have turnovers when we are in a good position to come up with some points it's going to kill us all year then.

If I hear the name Matt Moore one more time my head will explode. There are some Moore homers on here, and there are some "i dont care who is qbs" in here, I would label myself ANTI-MATT MOORE. I have waited too long to enjoy this season, I have craved meaningful football since last year, and all i get is this MATT couldn't beat josh mccown for second string in 09 MOORE to look forward to. I could have told you how that book was going to be written, you don't put your franchise on the shoulders of a scrubb like that.

I just want to see us back into positive turnover margins. It would make a huge difference, even if the offense is having problems getting it in gear. I just saw that we are stuck at the bottom of the league at -2.0 per game. Baltimore is right there with us, but the extra nasty D and Cleveland under their belt equals 2-1. They dropped the game to the Bengals as well. Ball protection would have been a game changer in all three games, especially the 4+ complete drops that Palmer gifted our D. It was comical that we didn't get at least two more picks and there was at least one pick-6 left out there on the field.

The fact that Moore was deja-vu 2009 all over again in the first two games plus the concussion makes it easy to accept the change to Clausen. Now if our other players could secure the ball and take the opportunities as the arise, maybe the pressure on Clausen starts to ease up. Then we can get some real reps in.

First of all Fox didn't have to start Clausen. He did pay attention to the fact that he probably waited too long last year to pull Jake so he decided that if Moore struggled he would give Clausen a chance. Still there is no reason he has to stay with Jimmy at all. Unless Richardson overrules him he is not worried about the future he is worried about the now. He knows he is gone so he doesn't care about down the road.

Clausen wa signed for 4 years because we always sign our first through 3rd rounders for at least four years since that ensures we have them long enough to pay off and we get them cheap.

If Clausen wants to be the starter then earn it. If he struggles next week, Fox will give quite a bit of consideration to playing Moore again. It isn't as if you replaced a starter. If he goes 0-2 there is no reason not to pull him.

If he goes 0-2 then the Panthers are 0-4. That is even more reason to keep starting him for the experience.

Don't know how any of you can say that Moore had his shot and didn't take it after 2 games yet if Clausen gets his shot and doesn't take advantage of it after 2 games, it isn't the same thing. Neither guy proved he was better so it all gets opened up again.

They have different motives as this point. Hurney and JR don't care about this year as much as they do 2011 or likely 2012. Fox is going to do what is best this year since he is gone. So Fox will do what will win games and Hurney and JR will do what they think is best down the road.

You don't think they overrode Fox on the decision to let Jake go? How about Harris? You could tell Fox was pissed off. Down deep I bet he thinks Richardson is getting what he deserves. Won't stop him from giving his all, but he knows that this team is not very good no matter what he and the other coaches do.
