Appreciation For Jake Delhomme

THis Thread is Frickin' amazing.

Agreed.

Jake is the man-- If it wasent for him we wouldnt be where we are now-

probably not anyways ;)

definitely not

No Jake = no 10-3, no way, no how. The man has a couple of rough starts and the rest of the team pulls us through. That's what great teams do. After the last two years we have been through, it's unbelievable some of the comments on this thread considering we are 10-3 and in control of our own destiny.

Sucks to be 10-3 and in control of your own destiny because that only disguises the fact we have an average QB. None of that stuff matters, its QB rating people, QB rating is what matters! We need an elite QB, and they're everywhere. Why can't Fox and Hurney see that this league is flooded with elite QBs and just sign one?

First, if you can look at a post that mangles the English language that badly (I can't even figure out some of the points, it's so bad) and call it intelligent that tells me a lot about you.

Second, regarding facing a team with a strong run defense, your hero Brees fared worse against Minny than Jake did.

yeah lets try not to throw insults out, unless your want them thrown back at ya.

yeah we might not be 10-3 without jake, but we defiantly would be in the playoff hunt.

jake is the man,but he needs to get his shh together, meaning less ints and less TO's.

i don't give a f**k how the passes look,i just want the ball to be taken care of.

I was saying it was amazing because of all the haters.

Holy sh*t, can I borrow your crystal ball??

The QB position is the prima-dona of all positions. People want a flashy and extremely talented guy to play the position because the QB is the supposed leader of the team. It makes the team look more marketable and "cooler" to have a Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Eli, etc. The thing about Jake is, he's gotten it done.

You can't say the guy isn't apart of our success when we have the same pieces as last year except a 3rd down back and an additional OL. In '06 Jake struggled with Nagging injuries like Farve did in the past and even then we lost a ton of games that were within 7 points. '07 We were 3-1 before Jake went down, and we finished with only 4 more wins. Just take a step back and look at where we're at right now and realize Jake has alot to do with that (even if he's not throwing a pass 30 times a game).

You're responding to someone who's agreeing with you. I don't know how someone can definitely say we would be in the playoff hunt without him. That was why I was pointing out the other poster's prediction.

Exactly right. When we look back at last year and try to explain the 7-9 record it has to be the loss of Jake that made the difference. Now I haven't seen Josh run this team but I really think he would have had a difficult time guiding us into playoff contention considering that this is his first year with us.
