Fox must go. We win in spite of him. Enough is enough.

By your logic, anyone who shoots less than 90% in basketball should be benched.

Measure the guy against the success of his peers and you'll see that he's either the luckiest coach in NFL history or he's pretty damned good.

Your post may be heartfelt, but it's wrong and unreasonable.

I always respect your posts and perspective Cyber... But, I feel my post was justified. With the basketball analogy, no I don't feel if you shoot less than 90% you should be benched.

What I DO feel is that if you can trade for any player in the league to LEAD your franchise, are you going to trade for Steve Nash or Lebron James?

The answer is easy. Lebron is versatile, consistent, and has proven he can carry a team on his back. Nash is the better shooter, but Lebron is the best player in the league. Fox is Nash, good but has never been able to carry a team, but looks good compared to his counterparts. Lebron is Cowher, a proven leader who has put typically weak teams on his back and carried them to the finals.

And what have the 49ers accomplished since then?

They also didn't have Bill Cowher or another consistent proven coach (Shanahan, Gruden, etc.) available when they did that. I can't speak for what they did after, but they fired a guy who was good, if not great, at what he did there with his staff.

And additionally, Fox has not had two winning seasons in a row, so it's hard to compare apples to oranges.

The fact that he lives in North Carolina and despite rumors of him wanting to get back in coaching shows absolutely no iterest in any other job.

Do you really not think Cowher is waiting on Fox to leave so he can coach in NC?

Sounds like you're jumping to conclusions to me. He said he's not coaching next year...period.

cowher carried a weak team, you mean those steelers that won the division the last 2 years after he left? yeah thats 1 weak team he carried.

it was a figurative analogy. that statement was based more on lebron than it was cowher... simply put, cowher is a proven leader of men, fox hasn't shown that capacity.

Cowher played in an easy division for years and gained a reputation of someone who could get them there but couldn't get them over the top. Sound familiar? It should--it's exactly what you're basing your criticism of Fox on. He won the Superbowl in his 14th year as Head Coach. Then he went 8-8 the very next year and left coaching.

I love Cowher, he's a fun guy to watch. His teams were full of highlights and were exciting. He's defense-first, which I love. He's an old Wolfpacker. But he's no better than Fox, he just had more time to get his ring than Fox has had so far.

I'm just having a hard time equating the two. Yes, our division is tougher, but I never saw the implosions that we've had while watching the Cowher-led Steelers. I never remember watching a Steelers game and wondering, "why aren't they adjusting?" He won year in and year out. And his last season was the year that Big Ben got injured in the motorcycle accident and he wasn't right all year.

After Cowher left, and even while he was there, I never remember multiple players mentioning they weren't behind him, or even suggesting it. By all accounts, his players rallied behind him. I never really feel that with Fox.

I told people that we need a new coach. Fox lost his coaching touch. His philosophies isn't working anymore. It really killed me in that one link where a supposed insider said Fox is holding Jeff Davidson back to what he can really do

People brag about the 12-4 season, but without Smith we would probably be 10-6. The issues with this team that us fans knew would hurt us, got us put out the playoffs. All cause of stubbornness to fix and correct. Fox only cares about the record. If we're winning, dont fix it. Even when you almost lost. Who does that?

I told people, you can't just blame Mike for the defense. Mike and Fox agrees on the defense. Fox is a ex defensive coordinator and head coach, he takes as much blame. So if you want Mike to go, Fox gotta go too. Cause Fox isn't going to fire Mike

Its funny how much fire Fox I've seen today. I told people, you will eventually see. What's down in the dark, must come to light. Keep Fox, we end up being the next Colts. Instead of a dynasty like the Pats

Dont forget about Henning
