Join the Movement - WE WANT BILL (Cowher for Head Coach)

he's a young rising coaching star who has a great track record of building and rebuilding programs where ever he goes into very solid, if not dominant teams.

he's got a good head for the game as a coach and a player. he has a really good pedigree and he comes from a really strong coaching family.

he's aggressive and unrelenting in his philosophy and a word i see quite often to describe him is brash. he's not a prick like rex ryan but he's got tons of confidence and does a good job of instilling that in his players. he doesn't hold back. he's not a nice guy to the teams he's playing. if he sees that there is something working to his advantage he'll cram it down the opponents throats over and over and over...because he can.

he doesn't call off the dogs ever. legendary example was against the trojans last november. trojans were supposed to beat the stanford team soundly. that didn't happen. harbaugh got stanford up 48-21 and then deep in the 4th quarter when the game was well under control, he plowed stanford down the field running the same power running play 14 times because they could. that drive resulted in a TD. instead of going for the extra point, harbaugh went for 2.

did he have to do that? nope. was it overkill? absolutely. why did he do it? because he could.

he's simply the jack bauer of coaching.

you go and pull for that old guy in the twilight of his career. i'll pull for the rising star who will be able to build this team up right and take them well into the future.

Thank you for yuour words of wisdom. I think Jim Harbaugh would be a great coach as well, but like others have said this may be shooting for the stars (staying at Stanford till 2014?):

I think Cowher could evoke change in our management and coaching structure for the better. He has the character to shake things up and draw a larger fan base.

cowher is a short term fix and would get old quick.

be forward thinking and go after someone that will be more of a progressive leader.

i don't want an old coach. it has to be someone young.

i don' a retread. they have to brng something new.

i don't want someone that has won a superbowl before because it's highly unlikely that they would be able to do it again with another team. remember, no one has ever done that before.

cowher would be fine going into an old established team like the cowboys or the giants.

for a team this young they need to have someone not as young as mcprick in denver (who road on the offensive coat tails of charlie weiss) but still someone who has a lot of energy on their side and has fresh ideas and a creative to bring to the table.

harbaugh >>>>>> cowher in the long term (and probably in the short term as well).

cowher is a weak, unimaginative, and overrated choice.

if the right deal came along for harbaugh i wouldn't be surprised if he took off from stanford and i'm sure they would understand him going.

Don't hold your breath on Cowher coming here. You'd have a better chance of Marty Schottenheimer (sp) coming. (And I'm not sure that's a good thing.)

I"m going to throw out a name that COLTS fans wanted after Tony retired.

Jeff Fisher from the Titans! I don't know where his contract stands now that he has had a couple of good years. If he could get away from having to play the COLTS twice a year, I think his record would improve. The only thing is that the Panthers might resemble the COLTS. He does like their Free Agents! (Not like that is a bad thing!)

ok...thats a horrible choice.

it's a miracle that he has been able to keep that job as long as he has. he is by far the most overrated HC in the league. he is fox of the AFC. flat out a step sideways.

only reason he switched to VY last year was being told to by the owner and that was the ONLY reason they were able to win any games last year.

he has more loyalty issues than fox and tries to play it safer than fox does.

go check his record as a coach. sorry but i would rather have cowher here. at least he has some track record of success.

17 years of coaching years and only 5 playoff wins out of only 6 trips to the playoffs?? more than that in those 17 years he's only had 6 winning seasons. no thanks.

you can't imagine that he will ever get better than what he has been with that club.
