I still don't think cutting/letting go the vets is a big problem.

Can't rep you, so pie.

Fiametta, who is younger and more talented than Hoover, unfortunately hasn't played to Hoover's level. Bernadeau, younger than Vincent, hasn't played to Vincent's level. Actually, he's flat out sucked. Schwartz gets a pass because, even though he sucks at T, he's an injury fill-in and will hopefully kick back in to G. Moose could come back today and out-perform our faster rookie WRs. Etc etc.

I think we just dumped too many guys at once.

I'm really not sure how you can isolate FB play when the line has been so inconsistent and ineffective.

As far as Bernadeau being not as good as vincent, well yeah that's pretty obvious. He's a backup for a reason and is only playing because of an injury.

Letting Vincent go wasn't the problem. Not bringing in any depth was. Remember, Vincent was just a dude we picked up off the street, much like Omiyale. There was nothing special about him. His only talent was excelling between a pro bowl center and a road grading right tackle.

You have to have " Blue Chip Players " we never replaced ours. Jenkins,Peppers, Diggs, Delhommmeeee, Mooooosssee, Harris, Hover. Did I miss anybody ????

in what world were Diggs, Harris, Delhomme, Hoover, and Moose last year considered blue chip?

Delhomme is rotting in cleveland, Diggs went to the Panther linebacker elephant grave yard, Harris is currently being cursed by Bears fans and Moose and Hoover are out of the league.

not sure Blue Chip is the word you're looking for there.

Exactly. It wasn't that we dumped a few guys who were old but we dumped half of our starters, promoted guys who had little experience and replaced them as backups with guys with even less experience if any. We said we have plenty of veteran leadership left but not from what I see. On that last TD drive by Cincy, they marched down the field and we had at least 2 blown coverages which accounted for almost all of the yards. I would like to think that veterans over there like Harris and Diggs would have prevented that.

I have said all along that it was too much too quickly. Obviously since cost cutting was king, it didn't matter to the powers that be. Perhaps when we suck terribly all year, they might figure out what went wrong and stop dismantling the team by letting Wiliams, Davis, Kalil and a number of others go. That really is the only bright side. If this team had played well Richardson would have figured they could gut the team again and it would still be okay. Only by being so bad will Richrdson realize he went too far and we can't keep doing it without sucking even worse in the future.

Why is everyone lumping Harris in with the cuts?

He was shipped out because he got on twitter and bad mouthed the organization. Say what you want about Richardson, there isn't a job in the world you can keep after going on the internet and throwing your boss under the bus like that.

I mean I just don't see the pining over lost leadership for a guy that publicly attacked the person signing his checks over a medium tweens use to talk about Justin Bieber.

My undying enthusiasm for class warfare and the joint dictatorship of the proletarian of oppressed nations aside, that's just silly.

I don't think Harris said anything bad enough to warrant being traded away...

I think its a accumulation of things that have got us to this point. The first mistake we made was firing Henning. We all Forget how much Dan Henning lobbied for Steven Davis and Jake Delhomme in 2003. He was the driving force that brought both of them there. Thats how the war room works in Carolina. Everyone gets an input. He never ran a wide open offense but he was great at feeding the beast and finding ways to do that. It really didnt matter if that was Davis,Smith, or Moose he was going to find a way to get you the ball.

The second problem is that after firing Henning we went to Davidson who was really not lighting the boards up in Cleveland. Yes Weis was high on him but lest be frank. The Pats under Weis won with Defense and a Smart QB. So being a prodigy of that is not all a great thing. With this hiring we some how found a way to not have a wide open playbook and not to feed the beast. Davidson rarely picks on a teams weakness or tries to get his star players open. Its left to them to get open by talent not mismatches.

Lastly our QBs has suffered not so much as not having a vet but not having a competent QB coach. I cant even spell his name and to tell you the truth he dose not deserve my time to try. He has effectively ruined 4 QBs. Derick Anderson,Brady Quin, Jake Delhomme, and Matt Moore. Now that quite a list....
