Is it time to break up Panthers, trade Smith?

I love Smith and think he could end up a HOFer, but not if he finishes his career on the Panthers. Trade him basically anywhere besides Arizona, Buffalo, Cleveland, Oakland, Seattle, San Francisco, Detroit, or St. Louis.

I could see him playing in Chicago.

I agree but they wont trade him to Chicago until after we play them.

YAZ agrees with Sorenson. Think it wouldnt be a bad Idea

Wonder if those Bears fans remember him sliding down the goal post?

How ironic if they had both guys that terrorized them in the playoffs. (Pep and Smitty)

And what happened to those teams when they sold off all their assets and it became clear to the fans that they rolled over and gave up.

If they trade Smitty this year I will not go to another Panthers game the rest of this season. Yeah they have my money for tickets because I doubt I could sell them for more than 5 bucks apiece but they wouldn't see me darken the door. I have hated teams for doing this to their fans and would find it the ultimate insult to our fan base.

I don't see how this argument swims at all.

He's our only Receiver.

After the season? Maybe.

Now? Ridiculous.

I, too, would hate to see him go, and if he does stay I hope he gets a coach here next year who makes sure to get him the ball.

But, I do wanna see him make it into the Hall, and if he can't do it here, I'd like to see him go somewhere where he can.

Along time ago in a far far away land. A Coach and owner traded their best player for Draft picks. Want to take a wild guess who it was and how it turned out for the team that traded the player? Cheering for a team is hoping they win the game but it is also wanting them to do the most to improve for the future. If I was down there I still would go to the games jsut to watch the new team improve and hope they win.

Right now, Smitty is our only legitimate WR so it would be crazy to trade him.

In the offseason, maybe - especially if it's clear a lockout is coming.

He wont be as valuable in the offseason. Trade Smitty now and we could probably get 2 first rounders.

Let the young guys get the experience this year. Next year they should be legit starters and our rebuilding will be short. Who cares about winning this year? Are we going to win the Superbowl? If we canrt contend for that then there is no reason to keep Smitty til the offseason.

We're not getting 2 first rounders for Steve.

We probably wouldn't get even one.

I think a 2nd is probably the best we could hope for.
