Is it time to break up Panthers, trade Smith?

I'm upset that the media covering this team specifically wrote an article about trading our star player, the best athlete in the city. If Smitty ask for a trade then I'll be upset but I will 100% understand because he while we hypothesize and speculate about what goes on with the team Smitty KNOWS. And if its bad enough for him to want to get a trade then I believe him.

Clausen doesn't throw down the field no matter what. He flushes out of the pocket too soon and looks for his checkdown as a first read instead of last one. Reminds me of David Carr alot.

And Smitty was mad this game not the first 2. What was different? Clausen didn't get him the ball. Pretty simple really.

Smiths fustration has been building since the first game.not just this one.

Hmmmm, nice way of stirring the pot. Read a stupid, but rabid thread on the huddle...then when the moment is right...not even a week later....talk about that topic.

I do understand smith's frustration with our offense. Trading him would only make our team worse. But let's do it!

It would make the 2010 team worse. We ain't trying to make a playoff run this year anyway. So instead of 5-7 wins we get 2-5 wins and continue to look to build toward the future.

I'd prefer to keep Smitty. I could see Smitty making it an issue. Too many new faces here and more are coming....and he wants to win now. He is exacty the type WR I could see force his way out

(By Tom Sorensen, [email protected]) Steve Smith is a competitor. You can tell because after Carolina's first drive of the fourth quarter Sunday, a drive that ended with a punt, he came to the sideline and slowly shook his head. He grabbed a cup of Gatorade. He sat on a long bench. He was pensive. He was angry. He was alone. p/At the time, Smith had as many receptions as you did, fewer if you threw the ball around when you tailgated.

What are you talking about, trade Steve Smith. Did he not throw the ball to himself, heck if he did he probably woulda scored. What kind of game plan tht doesn't get the ball to your best offensive player till late in the game? What kinda game plan.. goes into a game with a rookie QB while having two RB's that ran for over 1100 yards last year, but you only run the ball 18 times. Tell me what this have to do with trading Smith again.......
