I thought Clausen looked good...

Rookie mistakes.... all cureable with the right coaching. On his pick in the redzone, everyone in the stadium saw him staring down the reciever.

Most impressive play, watching him make the 50 yd throw across the field to Lafell. The kid has a cannon for an arm.

I have to agree with Zod, so what if we suck this year in the W/L column. Get a high 1st round pick reciever in the draft to throw to (AJ Green) and we are in buisness.

everytime i see this thread i get more depressed. we have fell so far that we are happy on seeing a qb from a ND system that hasn't produced a qb worth a bottle of Jack Daniels since Joe Montana do good. ya know, ok, so so, hey he is improving.

For God's sake what happened?

Sorta like USC WR's? :yesnod:

That CB did make an amazing dive on that ball though. Can't get mad at that pick

The bar is set low for QBs in Carolina.

The bad part is, the best day any of these QB's have had so far this year is more or less comparable to one of the worst days Delhomme had here.

Yet everyone wanted Delhomme out, and was sick of mediocrity. Now all of a sudden they forgot that, and pulling for mediocrity is OK again!

Didn't last long.

This season was going to be painful no matter who was at QB. At least now for this year we have the ability to evaluate Clausen and if he ends up stinking it up to, at least we have a high draft pick next year. He was supposed to be the most NFL ready QB in the draft according to many, so we might as well see what he's got.

I'll say it again. The most impressive thing about JC, was that he kept his head while things weren't going well. As much as I have defended Jake Delhomme in the past, he would not have been able to recover after a 1st half like that and I'm not sure Moore could have either. Jimmy kept his cool and kept pounding.

I'm very optimistic about this kid. The only people who are really disappointed, are the ones with unrealistic expectations. You can't expect any rookie to make his first start in that slop and not have a few issues. It's how they handle them that counts.

One of the more sensible things you have said yet.

On a side note, I would really appreciate it if you didn't go around the forum, regurgitating what I said into something completely different, putting words in my mouth and spreading false bullshit about me.

Thanks pal.

Dang someone gets very upset over interwebz 000111100110's

Edit: And just so you know, we are all tired of bad quarterback play, but you seem to overlook a few very important points for some reason.

1) Jake wasn't a rookie and no matter what anyone ever says on here, he was NEVER EVER EVER a top tier QB. He was a product of the system and luckily had a player like Steve Smith to bail him out! Jake was the epitome of Mediocre quarter backs but he was able to win games with our running game.

2) Jake had very low potential, he had peak and started regressing very rapidly

3) Matt Moore is Jake Jr...see above post. Both of these QB were nothing more than backups and practice squad players for any other team

4) Jimmy is a true highly touted QB coming out of college

5) Jimmy is a rookie which led people to be more forgiving while he picks up the NFL game

6) Jimmy has more upside than both Jake and Matt combined

So, yes, we are all tired of terrible QB play but I'll take it this year (and next) if I have a Peyton Manning on my team in three years! Will this happen? We'll find out in three years won't we?
