I agree 100% Zod. This season sucks, but the bright side of things are that we have a very young team and a ton of money to spend. Leave Clausen in there to take his lumps. He is going to be a very good QB in this league.

Im just trying to stay patient and I hope the organization does too. I just hope we keep this team together and ADD on in the coming offseason. You add a top 5 pick plus more to this team while keeping everyone and IMO, this team goes right back to being one of the top teams in the league. Just gotta keep everyone around. no one has said that his performance yesterday is proof that he is the future of the franchise.

saying that he hasn't proved he isn't the future is not saying that he has proved that he is. thats probably where your little mind is getting twisted into a pretzel.

here's another that might be screwing with you. when people say there are positive things to take away from his performance, it isn't saying that his performance was great.

no one is saying that he is without a doubt that he is the future of the franchise. there is the very real possibility that he isn't, but there are plenty of indications that he will be the future of the franchise.

And what my little brain can't understand is how you can take one performance and say it's terrible, and another very similar, and factually worse performance and say...see there's proof that he's going to be great! That's MY problem. Be consistent. If Matt's performance last week was terrible. Than a similar or worse performance by Jimmy this week is NOT proof of greatness for him. And if you don't think like that, then great. Yes he has potential. His ceiling MAY be higher, but considering that thing is a matter of opinion and speculation and not something based on scientifical evidence....that's all it is, personal opinion and speculation.

And finally, potential alone is not enough. Not only is it not enough, but you actually have to show off some of that potential before any talks of Future of our franchise should ever begin in any kind of serious manner.

As a matter of fact MOST QB's coming out of college have potential. And for every top 10 QB draft prospects there's 9 busts and 1 guy every year that's actually legitimate. And over 5 years maybe 1 out of those 5 truly do become franchise QB's as roughly half the QB's in this league starting are new, temporary, projects or fill-ins. So the odds are AGAINST Jimmy not for him. My attitude is rooted in skepticism because reality is rooted in skepticism when it comes to elite QB's.

And please stop acting like Moore is some veteran QB. This was his first meaningful season as well with him as a true starter and if you go by performance than last year's final games earned him the start. Jimmy hardly did anything as an NFL pro to earn his start. He earned it based on another guy's failure and name recognition.......oh and let's not forget....potential.

Then Clausen says couldn't pass to Steve Smith because he had double coverage, then Smith will hardly ever get a pass because he is almost always double covered. Hope one of them steps up, but neither seem to be the long term answer. One or both may have some decent game sometime, but we need a QB that we can count on week after week.

We should keep hoping that Clausen had first start jitters, but that really doesn't hold water. He is going to let the Panthers down just like he let Notre Dame down.

The one thing I saw clausen do that I didnt like was, when he completed a pass to receiver, he kinda went back to that receiver on the next few plays even forced a few. I saw him do that with lafell, lafell dropped it, but Smith was wide open.

I underestimated his arm strength, dude has a gun! He has to learn to take a little off on the short routes, however the deep pass to LaFell was money. Maybe Davidson should dial that up earlier in the game...naaah! That would throw off his whole scheme of predictability.
