I thought Clausen looked good...

I think the problem was that a bunch of people on this board were so high on clausen, and made it seem that he was going to come in and look like Peyton Manning. Its absurb, hes a ROOKIE, give him a chance.

I understand the frustrations, I myself wish we are doing better, but what can you expect when you have a rookie qb and a struggling rest of the team.

Give him a few games before you bring him out to the gallows, moore is not a better option.

We don't know that yet. Moore was so good last year that folks really were shocked this year and felt the problems were all his. Once Clausen gets to play a few games we will have a comparison and evaluate who is better at this point. Moore played poorly but so did Clausen. The only difference is that we expected Clausen to struggle and people expected Moore to come in and pick up where he left off.

Once he settled down he looked like a very promising rookie. The mistakes he made were either from lack of experience or are easily fixable. Don't bench him now an ruin his confidence. We are no where near a playoff team this season, leave him in, get a top 5 pick, kick tail next season with an experienced Clausen. The end.

Mailing it in already?

I'm not going to quote every single guy that wrote that said something like that. Just take a look at a thread like this one: http://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/44798-predict-jimmys-stats-5.html

It's pretty clear. There were a bunch of other threads similar to that.

specific quotes.

you show me how people said he was going to turn the team around in one game. and it has to be several people because you said there was quite a few.

if you can't back up what you're saying then quit typing.

Dude there WERE people that thought Clausen would turn things around. Just look at what some people were predicting and expecting in that thread.

5 TD 0 Int?

LOL. I'm not going to nor do I have to dig for quotes. Anybody that's been around here for the past few weeks knows this.

I would expect a guy that has been preparing for this day with a professional QB coach since he was in the 7th grade to do a heck of a lot better.

He will probably have a couple of games where he looks OK in the future, but he makes way too many mistakes. His thinking process is too slow. He doesn't normally react fast enough. He doesn't see his open receivers. There are many things not good about him. He does have good fundamental mechanics though. Just not going to make it in the NFL, not a one game opinion, look at his college games, up and down, up and down.

First post. Hate its under these circumstances.

Wheather Moore, Clausen or Johnny Unitas; 'till the O-line gives the QB some protection and makes a hole for the backs to run through and the recievers hold on to the ball (not talking about Steve Smith) and the plays aren't so predictable it won't matter who is behind center. A great O-line can make an average running and passing game look good. A poor O-line can make great running and passing game look like crap. I don't understand why this isn't obvious to but just a few.

Clausen may get better if he don't get broke or killed first.

If we had been a team that was just a quarterback away from being a contender, he'd have probably won this one today. But even with Carson Palmer and the Bungles doing everything they could to give the game to us, we just kept frittering it away.

Claussen is a rookie with his first start at QB in the NFL. He has an excuse. There's a bunch of guys in blue and black that don't.

Lousy game guys, lousy product. Six days till next Sunday, do something with them.

Clausen f***ed up a lot today but if Stewart hadn't fumbled we probably would have scored. If Jordan Gross wouldn't have gotten that penalty in the 4th we probably would have scored. He showed some skill in the 4th quarter. Not great but it was his first full game. If this was game 1 of the season and he was starting we wouldn't be in full freak out mode because for his first rookie start it wasn't horrible.

But if if's and buts were wishes and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas. We're 0-3 and its up to the team to adjust and the coaching staff to get their heads out of their asses.

A lot of truth there. But Clausen is going to get killed if he doesn't react a little better to the oncoming rushers. With an O-line that has some problems we need for our QB to buy some time by moving around.

I saw him buy some time on a few plays. He actually moved around much better than I'd have guessed a rookie in his first game would move around.

He still has a lot to work on though. In that same line of thought, our Oline has a lot to work on as well. They are so much better than what they've advertised so far this season.

Just seems to me if your going to build a strong house you'd want to start with a strong foundation. This has NEVER been understood by what ever powers recruit for the Panthers. Until they understand this we're not going to score TD's on a regular basis.

I don't know but it seems you could get a great O-line much cheaper than star RBs, QBs, and recievers.
