fox defend staff use of peppers.

We are talking about Peppers and his lack of pressure, when the only man who needed to be defended was a WR, who was never covered. It didn't take Warner 5 seconds to locate Fitz. Fitz was open within a 3 step drop.

Peppers is now a scapegoat in the Arizona debacle. You have to be kidding me. We are all entitled to our opinions, and clearly you opine Peppers to be very overrated. Clearly we disagree, and that's fine. But, Peppers didn't throw 5 INTs and fumble once, (4 times within a given Red Zone). Nor did Peppers allow Fitz to go off for 180 yards. Nor did it matter that he didn't sack Warner as many of their plays were off on 3 step drops.

To the thread title...of course Fox is going to defend their use of a player. Who wouldn't.

i agree with this.

i do think(hope?) that what fox says in PCs is different than what is said behind scenes. Whatever the case, the panthers aren't interested in peppers best interest anymore nor should they be. it's all about getting what they can now and making the most out of the situation.

a lot will depend on trgo being fired. if he is then i see big positive changes coming. if he isn't....i'll still be around.

I'm still holding out hope that Trgovac is fired. Guess we'll have to wait till next week for that one.

this is all pure garbage......i love how pep bashing is acceptable, but as soon as there's a get rid of jake thread you will be immediately be call a dumbass and ask to leave the forum.

BULLsh*t,pep has done his part.why don't you blame the coaching staff or the rest of the d-line.if your not getting pressure with four then you need to bring more fire.plus you let me know a de that get's his sacks like Julius does(without much help from lb'cb'fs'ss'or the rest of the line)?none come to mind do they.so stfu bashin the man when you know damn well that he did his part,i bet if he threw 5 ints in one game he'd be pardon from all his mistakes.

Jake is a way worse player than Peppers.

Jake cost us the game, Peppers didn't. Even if Peppers had 6 sacks in that game, the Cardinals still would have blown us out.

It is also cute how people say we shut down the Cardinals in the second half, HAHA. They stopped playing their usual offense, and went to conservative mode/clock burning.

But yea I agree this forum has a double standard.

it wasn't jake's fault that we fell behind. he wasn't innocent in our loss by any means but we shouldn't have had to dig ourselves out of a hole that deep. the only reason it was that deep was our defense wasn't able to get the job done.

both sides was horrible but jake didn't cost us the game.

Yea your right, Jake didn't put the defense in a terrible position six times.

They also were very fresh from being on the field for 40 minutes.

HAHAHA.

Was all Jake's fault, and Fox's...no one else.

(but I do agree that our defense has TOTALLY dropped the ball in the second half of the season)(but that is coaching)

fitz had 160 yards in the first half.

field position had nothing to do with that.

jake isn't immune to criticism. he made the whole situation worse but what happened on that field was everyone's fault.

zona beat us because they were better that night and more prepared. we lost because we weren't expecting that cardinal team to show up.

they were preparing for the team that showed up the previous meeting.

no one is completely at fault but no one is innocent.

.

Clearly, the Panthers brass wore blinder when looking at the tape. The Arizona team that showed up the previous meeting lit up our defense for over 400 yards then too! We learned NOTHING!

Assuming I totally agreed with this, I would still make that all on the coaches shoulder.

I mean is Jake coached to ALWAYS throw the fuging ball in the field of play?

Why can't he throw it out of bounds? No one is in his ear telling him that, I would almost bet my life on it.

I'm one of Jake's biggest fans, but to say he's not responsible for getting us behind is pure ignorance. The Cardinals got 23 of their 33 points off of turnovers.

As far as blaming the coaches...I'm sure Jim Skipper never wanted Foster to fumble either, but he did. DeAngelo Williams, on the othere hand, got the exact same coaching and never fumbles.

it's on the GMs shoulders as well.

we have had a glaring weakness in several areas, particularly defense, for some time. i am taking a management view of all of this.

i am of the belief that there is never just one cause to a catastrophe. there are always situations surrounding it that makes it as bad as it gets. it is the job of management to control all of those situations to the best of their ability using whatever tools are at their disposal. if the management can't control those situations then find someone who can.

he have a group of players that could have brought home the lombardi. there is not one team that the panthers couldn't beat when they are firing on all cylinders. fox has let things get out of control on several fronts, particularly the defense. give him and hurney one more chance to fix it. if they can't then they must go.
