Clausen was projected as a potential first-round pick but several teams backed away citing concerns about ego, selfishness and leadership qualities.

"Some of the stuff with Jimmy goes back to high school and some of these guys get smoke blown up them and they think they are young and famous,'' Fox said. "Now they get here and it's rich, young and famous , that's a recipe for disaster. I spend more time with that kind of stuff than X's and O's. I'm not the lone ranger in this league in that. I look forward to Sunday's, to the games. That three hours makes up for all of the other crap.

"I don't see that being the case with Jimmy. I'm really excited to watch him play. He's got a good head on his shoulders.''

i got no problem with a qb having an ego, sounds like maybe him and smitty are made for each other. this team needs an attitude, and if jimmy brings it...then so be it. maybe he will be a troy aikman instead of a jeff george. it's been a while since ryan leaf, maybe the yang just took a little long to get around the sun this time.

hmmm...it looks like jimmy doesn't have any of the supposed attitude problems that were advertised. hopefully all the talent is as advertised. we could really be on to something special if it is.

at the very least it seems fox has partook in the koolaid.
