First play Jarrett beats the corner on a slant but the ball is thrown behind him. 50 seconds Jarrett is open against the Giants over the middle. 1:15 open against Arizona. 1:45 he beats a NO defender.

Man stop I watched it ten times and the only time he was running OPEN was vs pitt Preseason I clearly said reg season I wanted you to prove me wrong so I can stop trashing dj but those times you pointed out he was covered each play. By open I Mean like gettis last week on barber see what I mean not backing out the bet its still up but open is once I catch the ball I can run a little before a defender tackles you.

It's probably been said before, but Jarrett being wide open doesn't mean a thing if he is not running the route he was assigned. Heck, I can line up at a WR spot and waddle to a clear spot on the field and be open. That doesn't mean that the QB will even know where in the heck I am or that I'd even be in position to do anything valuable.

This isn't sandlot football. They don't break out of the huddle after saying "Everybody go long."

I do believe however that back in the day, Jake would now and then tell Smitty, "Just get open, I'll get the ball to you." And they may have gone to that well a few times too often.

1. I don't care about the bet. 2. First play he beats the corner but the ball is thrown behind him. He still catches the ball and gains another ten yards. Gaining ten yards after catching the ball according to your definition means he was OPEN.

If you didnt care you would't post and its only right because when I win a bet I ALWAYS EXPECT to get paid. Cromartie staring at jake like I know he gonna telegraph this pass so yeah he was running open...hmmmm :yikes::nopity:

So you just contradicted yourself. First he never gets open, now you admit he was open. And I posted because I find it funny how everyone claims Jarrett is never open. Yet when provided with evidence, excuses are always used. Corners stare at quarterbacks all the time. Can't fault the receiver for that. Jarrett was open point blank. You just admitted it.

I can toast to that. Hopefully Clausen can find Jarrett on some open routes

Sorry for not putting the spacing in my paragraphs. When I had typed it up, it seemed I did it correctly but I guess not. About Jarrett, not getting "open", how many times was Smith not "open" and caught the ball? Call me a homer, but I have the Panthers in the playoffs as a wildcard team. Truthfully, those games could have easily went it our favor (DWill trip up against the giants, no overthrown pass to Rosario, etc) but it didn't and we have to live with it but i don't this team is as bad as the play we have seen. We have the talent. There will be penalties due to being such a young team but we will get it together. Here is us to being over. 500 by the bye
