It makes sense to me too. Most of the edge’s available outside of Carter arguably are not gonna start over Clownely and Wonnum.  We had the worst run defense in league history. The options available at 8 are good but mostly one dimensional. Preston Smith isn’t a bad 3rd option for our 3rd edge.I know we need another edge but IMO you pick a starter at 8, which is Warren or the receiver from Texas. We should go defense the rest of the draft, unless we get a steal offensive lineman in the 3rd round or later.
