I know its early and he hasnt played much but does he realistically have a shot still? granted he played alittle in the first 2 games with no production can he still pull it off??????????

Of course he's got a shot at it.

It's a lot harder for a Rookie QB to win the award just because, as a QB, every mistake he makes is amplified and people are dying to scream "BUST! SEE I TOLD YOU! SHOULDA STUCK WITH MOORE! HE WAS 6-2 LAST YEAR!"

But he's definitely got a shot at it.

Yea, Best is tearing it up. But Clausen is a QB, which gives him an edge. QB's get more attention and accolades than other positions by default. If it's even close, it'll go to the QB.

And he's got the attention of the media, which kinda negates the "media doesn't care about Carolina" factor. It's true, but they do care about Clausen.

So if he ends the year with better numbers than Bradford (totally possible, Rams receiving corps is even worse than Panthers. At least we have a #1) he'll be in the running. 2 lost games probably won't make a huge difference.

If he throws for 3,000 yards, and at least 20 TD's, he might have a shot. But looking at the way the entire team has been playing as of late... fingers crossed for a .500 season. I just hope he can hook up with Smith on at least 10 TD's this season, so he'll have a highlight reel at the end, and we'll know we've got a decent QB for next season.
