John Fox's future with the team

...just an observation.

When Fox first got here, he would talk to the crowd, or acknowledge them before games.

He was younger, he was in better physical condition. He had a swagger about him.

That's gone now.

I don't know if it is complacy or burn-out. Its not there.

His defenses, really, have always been porous...remember the SuperBowl in 2004...did anyone think the defense had any ability to stop the Patriots from scoring?

That soft zone is not new...he used it then...he uses it now...he'll use it into the future.

He also still has not figured out that TE and Safeties are worth something.

These are just my thoughts from watching many games, in person and on the TV.

I also think he is a very good man, a decent man, a very loyal man, a man who keeps his players secrets close to his chest, even when its clear he doesn't like what they say.

He also resists change, and that, is in my mind, will be his downfall.

There are certainly a lot worse coaches out there than John Fox.

No matter the won/loss record, sometimes, change has to happen.

My biggest bitch about him is it seems most times, he's seriously out-coached...and notice I say John, not Davidson or Turgovac, it stops with him.

The Panthers under John, have at times looked so unprepared, so out-coached, that it is outright painful to watch.

Loses are not good...the Giants loss was not good, but, what I could tell myself was, they represented themselves well, on a national stage, against a very good Giants team, should've, could've won it...and yet they turn around in the biggest game, in the playoffs and look like that. Its not the first time. Its a trend.

Most people compare Fox to only Capers and Seifert which is why he looks better to some people than he actually is.

So they jump to the conclusions that as soon as we fire him we'll go right back to 1-15 every year afterward and he's the be all-end all as a coach.

His own potential to be as good as he can be is limited by himself. Whether it be his shunning of upgrading certain player positions, tweaking gameplans to keep his team relevant, or changing schemes in order to keep his defense or offense stout.

At this point this organization theme should be SUPERBOWL VICTORY or BUST. Meaning that if we don't get a Lombardi trophy in the Carolinas it is time to clean house top to bottom. We been to the playoffs several times, went to the superbowl, had winning seasons. If we don't win it all we will be just like the Eagles. Don't get me wrong the Eagles organization is great year after year but somthing is not make them get over the hump. It's like having a 160 mph sports car and trying to go 200 mph, 160 is fast but if it can't do 200 it just can't do 200, even with your foot on the floor all day long. So if I were Jerry Richardson and staff I would tell John Fox that this is it, so do what you got to do (hopefully fire Mike Trgovac, and make some other offseason moves) or this will be your last season as head coach for the Carolina Panthers.

I don't think he'll be told that after we went 12-4 and if he was or is told that I don't think he'll care too much cause it is what it is and we just went 12-4 and that's a good record regardless of what happens in the playoffs because in the end only one team is happy.

12-4 is good but it not a SuperBowl win, if we were the Detroit Lions or the Miami Dolphins of the year before last then to improve to a winning season is good but to come this close more than once and if I were the proud owner I think Mr. Richardson is, you damn right I would be highly upset, and the way we lost.........Jerry Richardson to John Fox: "Muthaf*cker please, get the f*ck out my face with that 12 and 4 bullsh*t"
