So...If Jimmy sucks....then what?

Awesomeness!!

They pulled the trigger. If Clausen sucks, then here's how it will go:

fox_john060120_cp.jpg&t=1

Media Reporter #1: John, you started Clausen with the intent of invigorating your offense. After (x) number of losses, do you still think he's giving the offense a spark?

John Fox: Well, I think any time you have a rookie start for you, there's a higher level of energy. And some of his mistakes are things we just need to develop with him.

Media Reporter #2: Are you satisfied with Clausen's skill level? Did you envision him having more tools to work with?

Fox: I don't see a problem with Jimmy's skill level. I think there are some things we need to develop with him, but he has the tools he needs to give us the best chance to win.

Media reporter #3: If you lose the next (X) number of games, you'll be mathmatically eliminated from a playoff berth. Has there been any consideration of re-activating Moore, or starting Pike?

Fox: I don't think the problems we have on offense are just the play at the QB position. We're going to continue to work on the areas we need to focus on and get better.

So... no... baring injury, we won't have another QB starting for this team for a good long while.

Ah ha! The question I've been asking for months now. And still no one wants to admit the possibility. Could it be because even the thought of this becoming reality is too worrisome? Could it be now the Panthers have hitched their entire wagon and its contents to a single horse after having shot the last one for going lame and they have no other options?

Panther fans are gushing so hard on Clausen one would think the guy is an established veteran with a couple Pro Bowls and Super Bowl rings on his resume. The truth is... really... honest... the guy has never won a meaningful game... ever. Every time he has taken the big stage for a big game he's crumbled like a Ritz cracker.

Here's some "moore" reality- Matt Moore has seen his last playing days in Charlotte. He'll collect his $3M this season and move on to another backup job elsewhere.

But back to the original question... not that we'll see any honest answers here...

huh?

Alright..here's the truth...the God's honest truth..

There are some who are so busy with Moore's balls inside their mouth, that they fail to realize why Jimmy was brought here.

It's because the NFL is a business, and in this business, scouts are paid to find the best possible talent available. One of the talents these professionals found goes by the name of J. Clausen. The Panthers happened to pick up this particular talent, and even tried leaving him on the bench for a season to give Moore a chance, ultimatley, Moore showed he couldn't be a starting QB at the NFL level. So, they turned to the talent they had found.

You see, the God's honest truth..is that Jimmy playing at his best, is believed to be better than Moore playing at his..which is why Moore is now back on the bench, and Clausen has had to be given the starting role early.

Unfortunatley, there are some out there who are so tickled with Moore, for whatever reason, whether it was because they hated Jake, or whatever..that they don't want to admit that Clausen is more likely to be a very good QB than he is to be a poor one.

But, these people will continue to spew their nonsense, and hide behind their veil of "honesty" so they can brand anyone who opposes their opinion a "homer."

Had we yanked even a middling QB to give Clausen experience, I'd see where you were coming from. Unfortunately, this argument all falls apart one you realize we don't have a better QB on roster. What's there to lose? We're already getting blown out of games, in large part due to crappy play from the QB position.

Also, you guys need to drop the college bias. We signed him, he's a Panther, get over it.

think clausen plays this year no matter what(think pulling moore this early in year shows that the FO wants to get clausen playing time) once the new coach is in place clausen probably gets a year or so to get his act together, after that it's time to find someone else(pike, draft, free agency)

Are the frequent "God" references showing any of your biases, per chance? Not a Jake-hater, not enamored with Moore, I just see a lot of people refusing to even imagine the possibility of Clausen being anything less than a miracle-worker.

Huh?

So now religious beliefs are now a direct part of Clausen's performance ?

Interesting.

Or, you've just resorted to flinging crap because noone else here seems to buy into your "honest" opinion..

Nobody here has said Clausen is going to come in and be sure lock for the HoF.

However, we have all stated that Clausen has the potential to be better than any QB we've had. Especially this season. But potential does nothing on the bench.

Nothing to get over. And yes, you're right- 3 weeks ago you could have said this about Moore, "you realize we don't have a better QB on roster."

My, how things change after a couple games. Now you're saying it about Clausen.

Not expecting him to be a miracle worker, expecting him to play like a rookie QB. They make mistakes and they make a bunch of them, heck even Payton threw what 28 INT's his rookie season...

It's just at the moment Clausen is the best QB on the DC.

Also I've thought from the day we drafted Clausen that he was the best QB on the team, just wanted him to sit for a year first. With How crappy moore played, Fox doesn't have any other choice but to go to Clausen this early

clausen was the best QB on the roster and the best available one this year.

how many times does it need to be said that it wasn't even close to clausen's fault that notre dame did poorly with him there. they had no defense, no rushing game because they had no talented RBs, and they had a horrible oline. no QB could have won with that team than clausen did. no team can 100% be carried by it's QB or passing game. to think differently is ridicuous, just like the iorrational hate he gets.

and this gushing? people are just saying that he's not going to suck. that he's better than moore. it's not like anyone is crowning him the next breesus or anything.

hate on if you want to. like it or not, he's your QB. get used to it.

And all I'm saying is he also has the potential to be the next David Carr... that's all I'm saying... and why is that so difficult to understand and why doesn't anyone want to think, "What next?"
