Dont Be Down. Pep Leaving Could Be Blessing In Disguise

Pep is 1st rounder + 2nd/3rd or multiple picks.

You dont get a 4 time probowler 4 anything else.

and you damn sure dont take anything less.

And actually AK, adding another point to your quote, if teams are that attracted to Peppers to offer deals like the ones you're suggesting, then we will finally know how good of a player he is and the extent of trouble he gave opposing teams and HCs in gameplanning. Which the coaches should then know that they better make the most out of the picks they get, and in the meantime, bolster that DL(Terrell Suggs would look great in Black, Blue and Silver.)

In other words, if Lawrence Taylor was put up for trade in his prime, where would the bidding start? (This of course not suggesting Peppers is as good as LT was, but lets face it, as far as DE/LBs are concerned not many players are as close to LT than Julius is)

yea he's as close as you get in today's nfl, there are a couple of players that are similar but none in my opinion with the same skill set that peppers has. On another note I'd think at most we get a 1st and a couple of 3rd's for pep, but maybe we could pull out one that sends us two first a 3rd and a fifth rounder and we send pep and our 2nd to that team. Doubt anything that crazy would happen as I don't see too many teams willing to part with 2 1st rounders that have them.

me either. as much as I would love to see someone give a first, second, third and next year's first for Pep, hell, GMs have learned from the mistakes of the past, such as one goof up we even made with Sean Gilbert in the late 90s. That was one of many trades that taught organizations that there's a limit to a player's worth---- no matter how good or valuable they may be. (other ones that come to mind are the Ricky Williams trade, and, digging even deeper, the Herschel Walker trade that gave the Dallas Cowboys enough in return to build a solid foundation to win superbowls)

If he goes

Tag him, trade him for a 1st and 2nd/3rd or more picks, no less than that we need those picks

Resign Gross, use the money saved on Peppers to sign Lance Briggs, then use the early round picks to rejuvenate the defensive line im talking multiple lineman ( 1st round DT, 2nd round DT if we have to) or we could draft that RG that is 6-7 350 pounds to go next to Otah in 2nd

Or we could sign haynesworth and make different moves in the draft

Resigning Gross takes most of our cap space away unless we cut a few players.

Cutting lucas, Lewis, hackett, Landon Johnson and another player would give us the cap space to go after either Haynesworth or aso

I forgot to mention cutting Lucas. I think Lewis will stay he still has to use us. Landon is definitely gone though I could see Hackett getting another shot with us. I don't see the point of signing aso. I know he's the best in the league but we already signed Gamble to a big deal plus if peppers goes we have no pass rush. No pass rush will make any CB look bad. We could sign jovan haye, haynesworth is a possiblity but his previous face stomping wont bode well with our staff. I think Briggs could be a real possibility but we don't need him as much seeing as we have Diggs and Conner in the wings. But in our soft ass defense the LBs are the ones who make all the plays anyway, but hopefully that will change this off season.

I remember plenty of people including myself say we can go after this person and that person. But forget

We dont have a 1st round pick lol

Now we can get a first round pick and a ok to good player out the deal on D by trading him

Then after multiple cuts on multiple people we wasted our money on, we get good cap space

And then we can go after Nnamdi Asomugha :D

Lol Idc what yall say. If we have the money, make the move. We need stars on our D

The situation we're in. It would UNACCEPTABLE if we dont come back next year with a new look and changes

Nnamdi Asomugha is going to be tagged.
