Panthers do everything possible to avoid starting Dwayne Jarrett

I think CRA and a few others can stop with the Jarrett parade now. I will give him credit, he at least run to the first down marker this time...to bad he has hands, and head, of stone!

Smith is out for a few weeks now so I would think they activate Edwards, cut DJ and sign Guy from the practice squad. :yesnod:

kid has great hands.

Jarrett had two balls thrown to him I think and played maybe 6 downs....defenders knew what was coming on both and made plays on the ball. Clausen locked onto that exact same route/play that the ball got knocked up when Gettis ran it and it almost got picked (same defender had been watching those predictable routes).

asking Jarrett to run a comeback route w/ Clausen throwing the ball is begging for an INT. Jarrett can't run that one well and Clausen can't not lock onto his guy the entire time.

First off, 8 people caught passes yesterday. Please stop saying Clausen locks on to his receivers, that is absolute garbage and you know it! The only time he locks on is when the play is designed to be a quick hitter such as a screen pass!

Secondly, Jarrett was in front of the defender both passes, the ball was thrown where only Jarrett with his god like helmet could catch it. Guess what?

Third, why should you not be able to ask ANY NFL caliber WR to run a comeback route? Again, goes back to the kid can't run the correct routes, which you keep saying is a trash statement!

Fourth, you kept saying he never got a chance to play. Well he got a chance yesterday and failed

I was with you for a while, always thought he was a joke, but you made some pretty good points about this and that. I jumped on board thinking maybe, just maybe, it was Fox (go back and read my post in this thread) but now...I'm right back where I should have stayed. The kid needs to be cut!

No more excuses for the Kid, you call him our best possession receiver, I call him a bust!

;)

1st -Clausen does lock onto his first read.

2nd - defenders made plays on both balls. Probably should have caught them imo.....but everyone not named Steve Smith gets away with those on this roster.

3rd - you should be able to ask an NFL WR to do that. Jarrett doesn't run that one well at all. Down right horrific. Jarrett does run the correct route.....he just is to slow to make it work.

I have supported him being cut for awhile now.

I saw an article about him yesterday. The guy writing it blames his old college because of their scheduling and lack of teachers who could teach these athletes how to read defenses and run routes.

Jarrett said it himself, all he had to do was get on the field and catch the ball. There was no intelligence needed because of the system they had.

Flash forward to NFL, you have to be lucky (like Roddy White) to have a guy there at WR (Joe Horne) who actually thinks that you're worth a damn to take you under his wing.

Steve Smith got into it with Jarrett his rookie year and that was the death of him. Mosse didn't think he was worth it. He'll never amount to anything.

I thought both plays were tipped/hit by defenders... especially the one that King caught on the rebound...

Clausen's issues at this point are his low delivery and his inability to pay attention to the play clock... I haven't seen him lock in on anyone really...

Jarrett's issues still remain that he doesn't get a fair opportunity (I think he was in on 5 plays, probably like 4 of which were after Smith was out), and when he does, our passing tree is so limited that defenders easily cover our routes...

You can call him a bust all you want, but it is the Panthers' decision making from the top that is the cause of it...

I'm trying to find a vid of the play but so far Google isn't coming up with anything. From what I remember, I don't recall the defender even being close enough to Jarrett to tip it, he was off to the side, Jarrett was wide open and just missed it.

Now these are his real issues, he does need to get the ball up and, while his head set was messed up, there are no excusses for a QB to not pay attention to the play clock. Easily fixable stuff

Let's say you are right, let's say he doesn't get a fair oppurtunity. That means you have to make the most out of each opportunity you actually get! He asked for that, he got it and he failed.

I just don't see that so we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Defender stepped right in front of Jarrett. Same defender that stepped in front of the same route to Gettis and almost picked that one. That is why the ball hit Jarrett....defender blinded Jarrett's view and luckly the defender could make the play.
