JR = SMART Business man

Nah, if he was cool with cutting Delhomme and paying him that kind of money....than he should have been cool with axing Fox with him. Keeping Fox this final season is going to be costly imo. He is gonna really take the air out of this franchise imo. Horrific coaching in 09 and people won't continue to ignore it this year. And Jerry is certainly aware of how bad Fox has become......his actions this offseason telling Fox he could find a new job support that.

Too bad Jerry knows he can count on a large enough percentage of the fanbase that allows him to do whatever he wants.

Meh, I'd rather have a owner driven to win championships.

I really think what he is doing will lead to MANY Championships. I would rather suffer through this year as long as it sets us up for the future. This year may suck (even though it has just started) but this may be a brilliant idea he has right now.

Right it takes the threat of a lockout to prepare for this 'many championship' run.

He's setting himself up to make a lot of money regardless of how the team plays, nothing more, nothing less.

He's such a smart business man/owner that his team has a losing record as a franchise, never has had back to back winning seasons, and holds onto players and coaches for sentimental value.......

How has he fielded garbage? What Carolina teams were there recenetly whewre the majority of starters were garbage?

It's more about the record not reflecting the talent.

We have talent on this team, unless of course we just think we have more than we really do.

The product on the field has been underwhelming to say the least, regardless of certain individual talent.

Maybe mediocrity instead of garbage...

Either one not good enough.

So if the owner allows the money to field all the idividual talents, why is his fault how they perform on the field?

    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
    • I would say maybe 8 in a tier by themselves and all but 2 where picked in the top of the first allen pat m stroud burrow jackson hurts (maybe) Herbert Stafford
