McCoy leaves for Denver

Yeah, Vinny would be a nice. He could also be a part of the physical conditioning of the team. Didn't he get Dwill into better shape and he had a break out year. Romo has stagnated since he left the Cowboys, so maybe there is something to Vinny that the team really needs to look at!! I would feel a lot better about this offseason if we could get him.

what sucks about it though is the geography factor. He did want to stay on the east coast when deciding between the Panthers and Cardinals to sign with last year. If the Panthers can somehow coax him into migrating south to Charlotte from Long Island for a few months every year with a solid paycheck they might be able to pull it off.

IMO, Vinny had the respect of the team immediately when he walked in (Of course the big factor, "veteran" role was complemented with a win against Arizona after only being on the team for what, 3, 4 days?). That's one of the most important factors. All he did was "talk" to DeAngelo to get in better shape and he did.

Now if he can do what he did with DeAngelo, imagine what he could do with the conditioning and strength-training of players like Dwayne Jarrett, Charles Johnson, Charles Godfrey, Richard Marshall. If he can get their ear for a minute, they'll end up better players. This guy knows something about football.

I dont see where your getting that McCoy leaving is good.

He is obviously highly regarded by people around the league, Fox has given him much praise, especially this season.

All the bad news about him is just assumptions based on Jakes play. When really he might have very little to do with that. Jake is 34, he's not suddenly going to get execptionally better with his footwork or release just becasue of some new Qb coach.

intresting news here: steve logan, bc oc and a former NFLe QB coach, is leaving bc. hmmmmm. also some of you may already now this but per bc's page he has been hosting a sports-talk show in raleigh. just an intresting tidbit that coinsides with mccoy leaving. also has ties to NC, as ECU head coach from 92-02 and an assitant at ecu before that.

I've never really had a problem with McCoy either. I wish him the best. You never know though, this could end up being good for McCoy and the Panthers.

Sorry, but when your job is to prepare and coach a player to be ready to take up his position in a live game, and not a single one of them comes in looking truly prepared for it, then you are not doing your job. This is more than just Jake and his mechanics. Let's look at his body of work, shall we?

Weinke - Not a good backup, didn't really shine overall. Mainly missing the "It" factor, honestly.

Jake - Still makes the stupid throws, still stares down receivers, still has a problem reading the field

Carr - Egad, do we really have to list them all?

Vinny - I agree with what you said above about old dog, no new tricks. Honestly, the only thing Vinny had a problem with was age

Moore - played decently in the three games he was in, looked great, regressed in the preseason. Yeah, I know, it's preseason...

What exactly has he done to make him "well-regarded" anyways? Not being a dick here, but I just don't see what makes him a good coach from what I listed above. If you have an argument for the other side, I'd be happy to debate this :)

Just cause Fox lauds praise on him, doesn't mean squat to me. It's the same philosophy as not throwing a player under the bus. I mean, c'mon, this is the same guy that said Trgo was a great DC, and we all know that's complete horseshit, lol!

You know who would make a great QB coach........Gruden! Hell the man has a QB fetish that needs to be quenched.

Oh hell no. His players practically quit on him just so he'd get fired.

Gruden has made a rep off winning a Super Bowl with Tony Dungy's team. Since then, he's done squat. Add in that he's a west coast guy and we don't run that offense.

No way, no how do I want him anywhere near this team.
