Guys seriously don't argue with hindsight. It's over and Clausen doesn't fit this team, not with Fox and not with Rivera. Last year has nothing to do with how good Jimmy will be except in looking at it at the end of this year and how good he is. That is true for ALL rookies. Its more so progression and learning it, taking it all in and being able to adjust, than it is preformance the rookie year. Add that to Fox basically ruining our QB, Fox could have done a LOT of things to help Jimmy, like say maybe never starting him. Unless you all think he was ready.

Pike threw for 12 passes you know, 12... 12. Passes.

No way you can tell he killed the season. =D

Edit: I also mean whether he is good or bad, I believe he is good but he only threw for 12 passes.

Point was neither Clausen or Pike fit the offense. Neither were worth a roster spot for Foxs offense. Once Moote went down or sucked....Fox had no back up plan....and that wasn't Fox's fault.

That is what doomed us.

Name a team that earned the #1 overall pick with the kind of talent Carolina had on the roster.....

Just sad, the Clausen/Pike and Fox combo killed that season.....and it is really hard to blame them fully.

You keep arguing against yourself to try and place 100% blame on a rookie. With the talent you speak of the Panther's should have been able to win, period. Colt McCoy threw for 74 yards and 0 TDs against the Saints a few weeks after Clausen threw for 200+ and 1 TD and guess whose team won by multiple touchdowns? The notion that a team's skill players, especially the backs, can't pick up the slack is garbage. Hillis had a stellar year last year and he did it through brute force not McCoy opening up the defense lol. Speaking of which the Browns game is another one where Clausen did the minimum amount to put the Panthers in a position to win and Kasey misses a chip shot.

The point is that there is plenty of blame to go around last season. That team was disillusioned by the front office and not meant to win games any way you cut it.
