Clausen at best will look like Moore or slightly worse overall. He is a rookie QB....and that is just what happens. Be prepared for it. Fox can't flip flop now on QBs. Clausen has been given the reigns to develop....therefore you have to go through the down games. When he puts together two stinkers there shouldn't be any we want Moore or Pike talk.

Should I bring up the bucs d being in prevent mode giving up the short passes in front of them or should I let the euphoria continue?

I expect Clausen to struggle on Sunday. The bengals will confuse the hell out of him with disguised defensive plays.

unless Clausen shows he can throw a deep ball teams will just stack the box and play the dumpoff. Seems to me that he will have to learn to stretch the field and look downfield or teams will just let him throw in front of them and in front of the sticks and we will have David Carr part 2. People forget that in 2007 Carr hit on 54% of his passes but his yards per attempt was 4.7 and he threw 3 TDs and 5 picks and a passer rating of 58. Right now that would look good for Clausen counting the preseason and stop duty.

Maybe. Doesn't matter much. In limited game action he's shown far superior instincts and decision making ability than Moore. Mistakes will be made - easy to admit that. Freeman was awful until the last few weeks last season. Starting Clausen is an investment which might not pay until next year. We're missing enough other parts that we're not going to the Superbowl anyway.

This is where I think a year on the bench would have been good for him.I think he can throw a deep ball but it would have helped if he could sit and let his toe heal 100%

It isn't so much throwing the deep ball. It his hitting your intended target. If Moore hits Gettis and Rosario when they were wide open, Panthers win. Clausen is a more accurate passer and will hit those open targets.

Go Panthers

the question is if Clausen is going to take those shots......or he is going to check down or miss seeing them.

They were in prevent mode before Clausen got on the field. Why didn't Moore complete the passes if they were just wide open?
