My Clausen gameplan is the same as Bradford's week 1

50+ passes

I disagree with those of you advocating run run and run some more.

Guess what that does.. it sets up every pass to be a pressure packed third down conversion for the rook.

The kid knows how to play quarterback and find open receivers. The best way to get him in the game is to start passing on first or second down regularly. At least early.

The gameplan this week for Tampa was to take away the run and Steve Smith and make the rest of the team beat them. That's what they said after the game.

There is no reason to think that Cinci will do anything differently. If you want to play right into that then run the football every play. Just don't expect a different result.

-Jpjr looking for something more interesting out of the gameplan this week (regardless of whether it is Moore or Clausen).

that was the same gameplan every team had in all of 2009 and 2008. Not a new concept that Carolina is facing.

i think chris weinke passed the ball 40+ times in his first start vs the vikings in 01 and we all know how that worked out since that game

the funny thing about this board is how much grief the panthers get for playcalling yet anything but completely predictable is unacceptable.

you heard it here first - pass more to open up the run. the run is shut down as of the first play on sunday

I don't see it happening, and hope it doesn't happen. The coaches already tried to get cute against the Giants, with predictable results.

The best thing they can do is run 55% of the time, and use the short passing game to get JC into it. Which means that they'll pass 60% of the time, and call 20+ yard plays regularly.

i think the best thing for clausen is to run on first and second and setup at lot of 3rd and 5 or less....the coaches job is to limit his rookie mistakes and you just cant do that when he is throwing the ball 50+ times.....but i do like the idea of coming out early and throwing the ball around and making cinn respect it

lol...

I agree, short passes to help open up the run a little bit.. I also think that's all we have available even if we did manage to throw a bit more..

We are a running team but you have to have a quarterback that can make a defense pay when they stack up the box. You make the defense respect the passing game the running game will return. Right now teams don't respect Moore or our passing game.

I think our receivers are going to be fine but you got to have a QB that can put the ball in the correct spot for the receivers to make plays.

Go Panthers
