Except for the tempo, pass protection, an honest-to-God sustained drive, # of completions, etc etc

It's not Pickles fault we decided is was an omg awesome idea to try and sweep Stewart on 4th and goal from the one.

You guys can try and throw stats around all you'd like, but the entire offense looked a lot better once Clausen subbed in. Hell, even if Clausen was exactly on par with Moore (he was better), one is a rental, the other isn't and needs experience. And, to boot, the rental isn't taking the team anywhere at all.

Moore made it to the red zone too.

tampa also got up by 2 scores and moved into the Tampa 2 when Clausen got on the field. Totally different enviorment. Dinking and dunking in that scenario ain't that impressive

What was even less impressive was Matt Moore and his poor reads and throws the whole rest of the game. What was even less impressive than that was Matt Moore the previous week against the Giants. He has been terrible. Last year means nothing right now. If the guy is hot, you play him. Matt Moore is not hot though, he is ice cold. Might as well put Clausen in there to take his lumps. If the QB is going to play like a rookie, you might as well play the rookie.

Some of you Moore apologists are just amazing in your blind desire to proclaim Moore is better than he really is.

#1- The protection issues of the OL are being made into more than what they are. Watch ANY NFL team OL play and then watch ours. Our OL is giving the QB the same amount and at times better protection than just about any other team out there. The big difference is that just about every single QB has made a decision were to throw the ball by the time he reaches the end of his drop.

Every other QB ANTICIPATES when the WR is going to get open instead of waiting for him to get open. Moore doesn't throw the ball until the WR is open, by then he is no longer open. Moores pocket awareness and decision making has been sub-par at best these last 2 games.

#2- Did anybody else notice that Tampa was playing BOTH of their safeties less than 10 yards deep pretty much all day? Moore never capitalized on that, never. There is no way your run game is going to get going if the D can play 9 men in the box and never be forced to back them out. That is on Moore.

Moore is just not an NFL QB. He is a decent backup that can get you through a game but can not make a D pay for becoming too aggressive.

Jimmy may not be any better, although from what I saw yesterday he looks better. I would rather watch Jimmy drop back make a quick decision and complete a pass for 6-7 yards than watch Moore stand back there and never decide to do anything and get sacked.

The moment I knew that Jimmy should be starting instead of Matt came on his first rollout to the right. The first thing he did was check the backside of the field to see if the DB had broken coverage when he took off. Moore has never done that.

At this point you have two options, keep riding Matt and let him make the same mistakes every week or see if Jimmy has the tools to be great. A lot of you people screaming for Moore to keep playing are the ones that cried the loudest when Jake was allowed to keep his job, and now you want to re-create the Jake scenario with Matt!

I don't expect to win a lot of games with Jimmy but I will be interested in seeing if he can improve from week to week and learn from his mistakes. Something Moore has yet to show.

Well after our 6th preason game we just don't look very good. The play calling lookslike we are still trying to find out about our offense. Which it's clear we only have one WR.

The defense plays agressive, especially the linebackers. But, the only time the safeties are in the correct position is on the sidelines.

Moore looks lost/scared out there, it's almost like he's thankful when he sees Baker come on the field. I'm not sure but starting Clausen might be the best option at this point.

Moore got some time in with the Tampa 2 as well, which he couldn't capitalize on.

Clausen, meanwhile, lead a 79 yard drive as soon as he came in. It stalled on the one. Those screen passes that we can never make work? Wow! They worked! Instead of rolling out then running out of bounds to self-sack himself, he threw the ball away. He also equaled the amount of receptions of a QB who had 3 quarters already to play. On his first drive.

Clausen out-played Moore, and it wasn't really all that close.
