Found my dream car...

When I was in Die cast collectible sales, I set the single days sales record for the highest dollar total and highest count to one customer. It was to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky.

I called up there one day and asked to speak to the Museum Director. She was out to lunch, but the receptionist was nice enough to give me her name. So I sent her a package of Corvette Collectibles we carried. About a week later I got a phone call from her and she placed an order for about $60,000/20,000 units with me! I was just a part time salesman and part time designer. (Because I was just a part times sales, the owner said I wasn't able to collect the commission off of the sales! A-Hole!)

Seems like everyone wanted to get the account, but no one wanted to take the time to call or send them any information. Between that and the first dragster from 1320inc (I ended up selling 25% of TV Tommy's Ivo dragster to 1 account.) The Sales manager quit!

I can't remember her name (The Corvette Museum's Manager), but I remember she was a good looking redhead!

Have you ever heard the story of the old Corvette show cars?

Back in the 80's the President of GM was appauled at how much was being spent to store old GM show cars. So he ordered all the cars destroyed! The head of the Corvette design team, heard about this and had the old Corvettes sent to another warehouse in the dead of night! He folded the cost into his budget! Years go by and a new guy is running GM. Seems there is a rekindled interest in old GM show cars from the 60's & 70's. Trouble is, they were all destroyed!

The design head speaks up and says he might know where there is the Bubble Top Corvette, along with the Mako Shark along with some other Corvette project cars. He calls up the warehouse and asks them to dig them out of storage.

Sometimes it pays to be a little sneaky!
