Zod fixes the Panthers in 3 simple steps....

Step 1: Stop giving up the big plays. Two weeks in a row now we have been killed by passes longer than 15 yards, mainly giving up big third downs. The front seven look good. Really good. The back 4 need to get their thumb out of their ass and get after it.

Step 2: Keep it simple for Jimmy Jam. Memo to Jeff Davidson: don't get cute. Let Jimmy be a game manager. Run the ball, then run the ball some more. Run it until the defensive tackles are halfway dying from lack of oxygen. Then when that happens, run it again. Sure, you may not score any points the first half, but the second half you will score plenty. You have a young team, its time to rope-a-dope the old ones.

Step 3: Enjoy the Wins

Davidson needs to meet with Jimmy and allow him to eliminate the pass plays that he doesn't like. Jimmy has a big ego, and at first I'm sure he'll try to say that he can run any pass play well. That's not reality. There are going to be cetain plays he runs well, and others that he has trouble executing. There is no need to try and overload his donkey with complicated pass plays that take an eternity to develope. Keep it simple, and tailor the playbook to best fit Jimmy's abilities. If the pressure turns up, call a few screen plays. Unfortunately teams are taking away our smoke pass to Smith. I was hoping to see that against TB, but their CB was at the los looking for it. He was right up on Smith and staring at Moore lol. What a nightmare of a game.

On defense our front 4 isn't capable of pressuring the QB. The loss of Peppers was devastating, and without an elite pass rusher we must blits oppsing QBs. Zone defense is worthless without pressure on the QB. No pressure = pitch and catch all day. My favorite blitz is the fire zone blitz, but I really don't care at this point, just blitz. No more pressure free pitch and catch for opposing QBs.

In reality they are getting the same pressure if not more on QB's than this time last season.

This time last season things were not going so well. Compare just about anything to this time last season, holocaust versus this time last season... hmm how bad could the camps be?

What team have you been watching? The Panthers never had a great pass rush early in the season. Pepp never even started to play until around week 6.

I consider myself somewhat of an armchair coach too (to old to be a QB). Only thing I would change about what you say, is I require the donkee coach , after a loss to were the sirr purr suit, be it Davidson or fox.

I think the play calling is the demise in our offense.Running it every down is not the answer.Run most of the time yes but dont be so predictible.Throw more to Mike Goodson, run a couple of draws and throw more short routes.Oh I forgot we do not have a reliable number 2.....get a reliable number 2 wr and then throw some short and intermediate routes.Every now and then change the 2nd down play we call and really throw them off. Some how or some way convert a 3rd down.

We just lost to 2 not so good teams...what is going to happen when we play someone that is good?

On defense we are stopping the run but we are going to have to get pressure on the qbs on third down and long.
